This is the 'Cross Roads' at the very top of the High Street near the Town Hall, (position 18 in green on the map), as it used to be in 1860. The picture shows a meeting of the 'Old Berkley Hunt', meeting at 'The Elms'.
The above is the cross roads as in the top picture, but taken in the 1940s.
This is also the same lacation, but taken after the redevelopment around 1950. The Pond can be seen, to the right of the picture, with 'The Platts' behind it.
The cross roads was turned into the present day underpass and roundabout in the 1960s.
