9. Bridge Place (formally Old Yard) in about 1850

This is Bridge Place, (formally Old Yard) in about 1850. A description in 1849 said: "Sixty-two people inhabited fifteen cottages, and rents decreased with proximity to the cesspool".

It was located somewhere off the High Street, which was the only street in the town at that time.
