Toby, a Cairn Terrier was my first dog. I got him from a reputable breeder at 8 weeks old. He did not look a bit like the handsome lad he was to become. Cairns can be late developers. I thought he looked like a miniature german shepherd dog! When he was old enough I took him to pet obediance classes and he did quite well although as Cairn owners will know they do have a stubborn streak!
I next tried agility classes with him,but he is built for stamina not speed, in spite of this he did well enough and picked up a few rosettes in competition.

Toby came into film work quite late in life! He started being used when Sam got his first break. Toby has uncanny knack of staring straight into the camera lens and has been used for quite a few fashion shoots being a very good looking boy!

His first job was for a swiss lager photoshoot. He had to wear a little can of lager around his neck just like the St.Bernards do with a barrel of brandy! He was very cute. He has had walkon parts in 101 Dalmations and the BBC's Pride & Prejudice series. He has done other bits and one of his best jobs was for Marks and Spencer inhouse advertising. Recently he did a fashion shoot for Woman & Home.

Toby is getting on a bit now, and is 13 years old. Because he is such a lovely wheaten colour he certainly does not look his age at all. The only signs of ageing on him are a few lost teeth! When filming therefore he always keeps his mouth firmly shut!
