Mosaic
I love mosaic, as it is a beautiful marriage of function and art. It looks good inside and out and it is a medium that can utilize so much that is undervalued or thrown away in our society. I work with glass tiles, broken pots, smalti, stone and glass. I make mirrors, pots and glass mosaic wall panels. I love the three marked stages in making a mosaic. From the design, to the application of the tesserae, to the final stage when it is brought together in the grouting process. It is then you get to feel the real movement of the final piece.
