Lyre Tailed Anthias (Pseudanthias squamipinnis)

Lyre Tailed Anthias

The male The female

The pictures of the male and the female were taken by Lisa Page.

Bought on 1st December 2003, they have settled well and feeding them ten times per day keeps them in good health.

The male was always a little downtrodden and finally the dominant female harried him to death and took over his role. She/he now manages the shoal properly.

By June 2005 the shoal was down to five, which is probably a good thing because the coral growth has now severely restricted their swimming room. The new male has "pop-eye" but still does a good job.
