Individual Knockout Reports

The first competition to be decided this season was the ladies doubles which saw victory for
Helen Metcalf & June Kyme in the final against Bev Goodwin & Rachel Harrington by 3
Frames to 1.

This seasons captains choice knockout was won by an inspired Daz Barraclough of Slack
Racks 3 - 0 against Station Hotels Jamie Hooker. Barraclough was in superb form all night
And easily dispatched Matthew Kirman, Stuart Mclellan & Mick Gibney in double quick
Time to reach the final. Hooker had a bye in the first round but had to work hard against
Danny Chusnall before a confident victory over Pete O’Connor in the semi final.
Hooker tried hard in the final but could find no answer to the confident play of
Barraclough.

Thursday 16th July saw the mens captains knockout take place at Cue World and the newly
Crowned winner is Pete Chisnall of Buddies All Stars. Pete ran out a comfortable 3 - 0
Winner over Lee McKie of Station Hotel following victories over Scott Grice (Taxi 242424)
& Keith Sawdon (Birds Eye Hotshots)

Gary Nicholson & Helen Metcalf won this seasons mixed doubles 3 - 0 against Pete
Chisnall & Amy Lovesey. Gary & Helen quickly dispatched Stuart Mclellan & Lucy
Day 2 - 0 in the semi final whilst Pete & Amy ran out 2 - 1 winners in a tactical battle over
Richard Smith & Bev Goodwin

Jack Stinson retained his title as Pat Poulson Trophy winner with a 3 - 1 victory over
Steve Clark of Fiddler A. Stinson had a walkover in the semi final when rival Richard
Smith pulled out through ill health. Clark had to work much harder to earn his place In
The final with a 2 - 0 victory over team mate Andrew Fletcher.

Three singles knockouts were decided this week, first up was the George Knox Trophy at
The Station Hotel which saw home team player Pete Dinsdale triumph 4 - 1 over Mike
Cabourn of Old Coach House. Dinsdale came up trumps 3-2 in a hard fought semi against
Andrew Fletcher after trailing 2-0. Cabourn beat another Station player, Lee McKie in his
semi, again by 3-2.
Next up was the mens singles for the lower leagues with Dave Blastland of Albion Sharks
winning 3 - 0 against Matthew Kirman of Fiddler B. Both players won their respective semi
finals 2 - 1 with Blastland beating Craig Robinson and Kirman defeating Ash Sargent
with an 8 ball clearance in the final frame.
Finally Thursday saw Helen Metcalf claim her 4th trophy of the season with victory over
team mate Clare Goodale in the ladies singles by a comfortable 3 - 0. Metcalf was fortunate
to reach the final after trailing to Tash Wright by a frame and looking odds on to lose the
second before a slip let her back in. Goodale had a fine victory in her semi against Fran
Hall 2 - 0
