Bring Logistics and Cue Comets contested the final of the Mark Holmes Trophy at Clee
Social Club on Thursday 6th August. Bring easily defeated Galacticos 5 - 0 in their semi
final and started as red hot favourites against Division 2 Comets despite Comets beating
2 premier division sides on their way to the final, the second of those victories being a hard
fought semi final against Standard All Stars 5 - 3 after trailing 0 - 3.
The final started in tremendous style with Nigel Emmerson recording an 8 ball clearance
from the break for Bring in frame 1. Dan Webster replied with an 8 ball clearance in frame
2 to level the scores. Paul Jackson restored the lead for Bring in the 3rd frame after a re rack
Brings premier quality then began to show as they ran in the next 3 frames with more than
a few scares along the way for a 5 - 1 victory. Credit should go to both sides for some
excellent quality pool played in the right manner.

Team Knockout Reports

The semi finals of the team knockout took place this week at The Clee Social Club, first
up were holders Station Hotel against Lucarlys 4KC. Station made the early running by
capitalising on foul shots in the first three frames to run in good finishes before the tide
turned and 4KC took the next 2 in the same manner. Captain Gary Nicholson then
showed he had the bottle to level the scores at the break. The second half started nip
and took until with the scores level at 5 - 5 Nicholson made the most of a slip by
Station captain Lee McKie to finish in style with an excellent 8 ball clearance. So it
was advantage 4KC going into the final frame. It was only a shame that the final frame
was decided by the most outrageous fluke you are ever likely to see on a pool table.
with the 2 pockets nearest the black covered Karl Bryant belted the black around the table
and after 3 cushions and a kiss off the white it ended up in the bottom pocket for a 7 -5
victory to 4KC.
Next up was 1st division Slack racks against Lucarlys Renegades. Slack Racks made
the early running and went in 4 - 2 up at the interval, Renegades dug in and levelled through
an 8 ball clearance for Steve Donner. The final 4 frames were shared so a 6 - 6 score
meant a play off with Steve Donner for Renegades taking on Ryan Milson for Slack
Racks. Donner took the honours, avenging an earlier defeat to Milson from the first half
to set up an all Lucarlys Final.

Lucarlys Renegades made the early running against stable mates Lucarlys 4KC in the
team Knockout final at Clee Social Club taking a 4 - 2 half time lead and then looked to
be certainties to lift the trophy when an excellent 8 ball clearance from Steve Donner
put them into a 6 - 2 lead. 4KC, however, had other ideas and started a fightback with
a captains performance from Gary Nicholson , a touch of good fortune for Karl Bryant,
a solid frame from ‘Goose’ and an outstanding 8 ball clearance from Tim Brown to
level the tie 6 all. The play off was contested by Tim Brown & Steve Donner, unfortunately
for Brown he went in off when potting a fine yellow which gave Donner the chance he
needed to clear up and secure the trophy with a 7 - 6 win
