The precision cutting of the string slots for spacing, depth and width. The setting of the action at the nut and lubrication of the slots for smooth string movement. Compensated Top Nuts: from £68.00 plus materials Many guitars play slightly sharp over the first few frets, this is due to the increased tension applied to the string when fretting near to the nut as apposed to the middle of the neck. The problem is overcome by compensating for this increase in tension by effectively shortening the distance between the nut and first fret. The procedure involves either making a completely new nut to new compensated dimensions or adding a compensating shim of matching material to the front wall of the nut. Fitting Soundhole Pickup And Endpin Jack : £15These pickups often come with a long trailing lead, which is an accident waiting to happen, if the lead gets snagged or trodden on the pickup could be wrenched free of the guitar bringing a large piece of the soundboard with it. by installing an endpin jack socket to the bottom of the guitar and routing the cable tidily around the inside of the instrument, the potential for disaster is averted.
