1986-1993 What?Noise

first line-up (1986-1990)

(L-R) Tim Harris, Chris Nagle and Julia Adamson (aka invisiblegirl!)

What?Noise were sound engineers, working at Strawberry and Yellow Two Studios in Stockport, Manchester.
They also have experience as producers working with local indie groups from as early as 1977.

The group played various instruments from stylaphone and guitars to programming drums and sequencers using C Lab (now logic) software on Atari computers, which were state of the art at the time.
What?Noise produced finished masters for record companies.

They played U.K support to Fishbone during 1989, and toured Universities with label mates Finitribe in 1990 to promote the album 'Fat'.
Concerts were also performed with various Manchester groups including Dubsex and Flatback Four.


What?Noise releases:

4 Track  Vein EP  released on Cut Deep Records in 1989 and was available on 12" vinyl only

Second line-up
What?Noise (1990-1993)

After employing a new vocalist more material was recorded.

The group performed a few concerts locally, one at Stockport Town Hall with The Fall, from where the following stills were taken:
