Who are The Crocketts then???

Who are The Crocketts!!!!??????? Have you been living in a cave for the last 3 years!!
Okay, I'll take it slowly:

The Crox are, from left to right, Owen Cash (drums, keyboards), Rich Wurzel (bass, backing vocals), Dan Boone (lead guitar, backing vocals) and Davey Crockett (vocals, rhythm guitar, general lunatic)

They play their own blend of, er, here comes the tricky part. Their music is extremely difficult to pigeonhole, which is why some music journalists don't take to them, they can't be slotted into the same stylistic category as other bands. The best description I have heard is:

"Music we’d call ‘farseeing folk’. But not folk in cable knit & beard. Some electrified petrified, Some heavy wine sentimentality & Love- moon dreaming & mud Drinking. A disc in hand word Of mouth folklore- angry & Gentle. The words are loaded & The trigger squeezed. A bullet Of sound for your heart & ears."
If your the owner of this fine quote, and want crediting for it, or just wanna give us some shit about nicking it, send your abuse this way

The crox live show is renowned across the countryThe Crox formed in Aberystwyth, Wales. They preceeded to get better and better and better and better. They signed a record deal with Bluedog/V2, and subsequently released their first cd, the e.p 'Hello and good morning'.
They gigged nonstop, supporting The Levellers, The Stereophonics and others which I forget.
In 1998 they released their debut album 'We May Be Skinny And Wirey', an ecletic mix of punk, folk, and searing emotion.

They continued to tour, and in 1999 had their own small venue headline tour, gaining fans and friends along the way. Later on in 1999 they released the e.p, the often calm and melodic 'Nintendo Fallacy', which recieved a lukewarm reception from the critics.

In late 1999/early 2000 they recorded their second album; 'The Great Brain Robbery'. It was an album full of raw emotion, and easily had some of the bands best songs on it. It was released in April 2000, and received some excellent reviews, but some poor reviews as well.

As for the future, who knows? The band hve been constantly improving not only musically, but lyrically too. If they keep going at this rate then, as Davey quite rightly says, world domination is on hand...
