The Regeneration of Broadleaf Woodland at Penmaenuchaf, Penmaenpool
In 1996 Gavin Miller teamed up with the Forestry Commission and secured a Woodland Grant to help finance the eradication of rhododendron ponticum at Penmaenuchaf.
The work concentrated on the area of woodland near the Miller Memorial (picnic spot) and reservoir.
Although the initial programme made inroads into the problem, there are still many acres of land needing attention. However this picture, taken near the memorial in 2006, shows graphically how quickly the woodland can be regenerated.
