» Link to Scanned 1901 Census Sheet for Penmaenuchaf … Footnotes: ⁽¹⁾ Most probably what is now called Stable Cottage especially as the Coachman's position was relatively high ranking. Located in the stable block within the grounds. It would not have been Coach House which was the coach house before conversion to a dwelling in late 20th century. ⁽²⁾ Situated near the reservoir on the estate. (Clearly denoted on the 1900 map see also Pheasantry.) ⁽³⁾ Possibly the Bothy as the census indicates the house had only three rooms. ⁽⁴⁾ Possibly a very small attic room at top of the old servants' staircase. Definitely in the main building because it has the same schedule number. ⁽⁵⁾ The only resident staff member officially recorded as a welsh and english speaker.
