Guthrie Whitby BA (Hons.) has been in involved in IT for over twelve years. His IT experience covers a wide range of businesses having worked in industries as diverse as train manufacturing (BREL) and banking (JP Morgan Chase).
His first client implementation in 1995 was a humble affair - Sage Bookkeeper version 5.1 DOS - but nonetheless successful. Quickly progressing into large scale financial systems, Guthrie worked on some important Agresso implementations including the Agresso business management system at the Scottish Prison Service in Edinburgh and the RAF's Logistics Information Strategy.
Later on, working in a freelance capacity he teamed up with the Agresso Project vice president at JP Morgan Chase. The brief was to specify and oversee the delivery of a bespoke web-based time recording applicaton integrated with Agresso project costing. This was successfully delivered to a user base of 1,300 in the UK, USA and Far East.
Whilst still doing the occasional accounting systems work, latterly, expanding on his interest in the web, Guthrie has become involved in website construction and search engine optimisation (SEO). Search engine optimisation being an exciting and competitive specialism where results can make a real difference to people's online business.
