I was born and brought up in North Wales and went to school at Eirias High School, Colwyn Bay.  After leaving school at 17 I studied A Levels part-time at a local college before gaining a place at Aberystwyth University to study International Politics and International History.

Whilst at Aberystwyth I was elected President of the International Politics Society for two consecutive years, organising the Society’s programme of events and rewriting the Constitution in both English and Welsh.  My greatest achievement as President came when Colonel Oleg Gordievsky, the former KGB officer accepted our invitation to speak at one of the Society’s Lectures. Col Gordievsky was the highest profile speaker the Society had ever paid host to.

After graduating University in July 1997 I became active within the Yes for Wales campaign which was campaigning for a Yes vote in the referendum on Welsh devolution. I was elected as Secretary of the Conwy YES for Wales group and campaigned both with the group and with the local MP for a Yes vote for the three months of the campaign.

I moved from Wales to Central London in April 1998 and now live in Pimlico and work in Central London.
