British Heart Foundation Fundraising Events
Total Raised £4,448
11th May 2007 -
Night of Clairvoyance
- Held in Maryhill Community Centre, 35 Avenuepark
Street, Maryhill, Glasgow. Mediums were Ann McCutcheon, Mary Johnstone and
Fraser McGowan. A very busy night and many great raffle prizes. Thanks to
Agnes McDonald for all the organising, £724 was raised on the night. Pity
June and Gina couldn't make it on the night as they were away on the trek at
the time, we all missed them but we (The Sparkies) were still joint winners
of the quiz even without them on our team.
21st April 2007 -
Fundraising 60s/70s Theme Dance
- Held in Provanmill,
Glasgow. Held in St. Philomena's Chapel Hall, Royston Road, Glasgow. Another
fantastic night I am sure we all agree. Nearly £500 raised
on the night.
3rd February 2007 -
Fancy Dress Pyjama Party
- Held in Provanmill,
Glasgow. The dance went absolutely excellent. A great
night was had by all and the DJ was one of the best I have ever came across.
£700 was raised on the night towards the fund and now takes us very close to
the initial £3000 target. Thanks to everyone from the weight watchers
meetings who kindly bought raffle tickets for the main prizes. Fun was had
by all and Andy Pandy and Looby Loo put on a great show for us all with the
risqué Andy Pandy song.
25th Novemeber 2006 - Fundraising table at Barmulloch Tenants Hall,
Glasgow - raised some extra cash for the charity total. Think we are all
becoming a familiar sight in our red t-shirts.
12th November 2006 - Car boot sale in Blochairn Fruit Market, Glasgow -
went way better than anyone expected. All the family were there with the
kids wearing BHF t-shirts and walking around with the collection buckets.
28th October 2006 -
Fancy Dress Halloween
Dance - Held in Provanmill,
Glasgow. It went excellent, everyone had a ball and loads of
money was raised in the process. Thanks to everyone for all the raffle prize
donations. We had many a special guest on the night to name but a few,
Minnie and Mickey Mouse were collecting tickets and selling raffles at the
door, the sexy witch was showing off a bit of leg, Lara Croft was ready for
action, the nun was hiding his rangers strip under his habit and replaced
the holy water in his bottle with neat vodka, Frank from the Rocky Horror
Show was there basque, thong and feather boa in tow stuck in a time warp
with the ladies dressed from the 60's, 70's and 80's. Jack Sparrow was back
from the dead looking for more sunken treasure, a police woman kept order
with her truncheon and furry handcuffs, the fireman had a good go and saving
the nun by carrying him over his shoulder, the harem girl was showing off
her to die for wash board stomach, Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz brought her
little dog Toto and many a good and bad witch turned up too. Last but not
least William Wallace was there sword and shield in hand but not a lot on
under the kilt as we found out when the "SHY" angel lifted it in full view
of the more mature guests bringing a whole to meaning to the words "A
FULL MOON"
