In early 2006, Julie announced that she
was taking a sabbatical from her Times column to study GOD. "I see this as the
nearest I have ever had to a gap year, and am very much enjoying it," she
said.
The Times then announced that Julie was
still writing for them but they were giving her "a rest" from her column to
liberate her to write on topical issues for the weekday paper.
Back on planet earth, she
also mentioned that she was writing a sequel to Sugar Rush, a book on
Brighton, and setting up a TV company to sell ideas for more documentaries.
The TV company is called Dumbass Inc, and Julie's partner is Sara
Lawrence - the Daily Mail journalist, not the NY
college of the same name who happen to have an
Undergraduate course on religion (and summer schools for writers).
Anything that stops
Daily Mail journalists from writing articles can only be a good
thing!
