Islamophobia

The 18 August column in which Julie addressed what she perceived to be "mindless, ill-sorted Islamophilia" generated a large quantity of comment in the newspaper in which it was published:

on the following Wednesday "I was extremely disappointed..."

on the following Thursday "I feel racially abused..."

on the following Saturday "Like equating western civilisation with Hitler..."

and to this website "I am writing to express my outrage..."

and Julie's surprisingly gloat-free post-September 11 article "Although I like saying 'I told you so'..." which talks not about Islam, but about the 'Islamofascists'

Then, finally an apology of sorts "from now on, I'll call them fanatics.." which contrasts the evil of Osama Bin Laden with the purity of Kylie Minogue. Really.
