Kirk Deighton Junior Football Club is a Football Association Charter Standard Development Club.  This means that the Juniors have been able to show to the FA that they have adopted the best practices for child safety.  The Juniors comply with FA guidelines which cover first aid, safe play and emotional and physical protection amongst others, in order to protect our young players.  All our coaches / managers have attended FA coaching courses and parents / carers know that their youngsters are in a safe environment.  We have Codes of Conduct which include a Disciplinary Procedure.  We promote equal opportunities and do not tolerate discrimination of any kind.

Jointly with the Seniors, we have been awarded Football Association Community Club status, currently the highest award of this type that the FA can grant to Clubs at grassroots level.  The FA considers Community Clubs to be the cornerstone of the FA National Game Strategy, and the status provides Clubs with a kitemark with which to promote their work in football development.  Achieving Community Club status is not easy and we have had to show to the FA that we are committed to putting ourselves at the heart of the local community, not only for existing football participants but for the future generations too.  FA Community Clubs are required to meet FA criteria, ensuring they provide opportunities for players irrespective of age, race, gender and ability.
