MISSION STATEMENT
 
Kirk Deighton Rangers Junior Football Club will endeavour to provide:
 
a) Opportunities for all players to learn and play football through coaching sessions and competitive games.
b) A safe environment for our players
c) Training and encouragement to parents and others to gain the necessary qualifications to become coaches, managers, referees, first aid attendants etc.
 
d) The opportunity for our players to progress to senior football with Kirk Deighton Rangers
e) The opportunity and encourage our talented players to progress on to higher grade football, through our contact with professional clubs in the area.
 
 
Where possible, our teams will strive for excellence, challenging for honours in local leagues.
The club will also ensure that our less talented players are given the opportunity
to play for the club at an appropriate level.
 
 
SECTION 1 THE CLUB
 
1) Junior Managers are representatives of the club and should display appropriate levels of behaviour and conduct when in that capacity in all dealings with other clubs, referees, the league and the FA.
 
2) Junior Managers should promote the club at every opportunity
 
SECTION 2 PLAYERS
 
1) ALL Junior Managers and coaches must undertake Child Protection training and be aware of the club`s guidelines in this area
 
2) Junior Managers should be aware of the need to take care of the children within their group and always act in a fair manner with all the players in their group
 
3) Children must not be left unattended after training or matches
 
4) Children must not be encouraged to continue playing when injured
 
5) Junior Managers should not select players who
a)   have not paid their annual subscription to the club, or
b) have not been registered with the league  
 
6) Junior Managers should always demonstrate and promote fair play and appropriate behaviour amongst
their players and supporters
 
 
SECTION 3 MEETINGS
 
1) Managers Meeting held on the first Sunday of each month (7.30 pm at the Senior Club). All Junior Managers MUST attend and, or if they are unavailable, delegate a replacement to attend
 
2) Decisions taken at the meetings and any tasks allocated should be complied with
 
3) Attendance at meetings for the Harrogate & District Junior League and at the West Riding FA may also be required from time to time
 
SECTION 4 KIT & EQUIPMENT
 
 
1) The club colours are shirts: royal blue & white halves, shorts: blue, socks: blue (with white or red trim)
 
2) The correct kit is considered essential in establishing an appropriate image for the club. Consequently, Junior Managers should take care when ordering new playing or training kit for their group
 
3) Any training kit (tracksuits, rain jackets, drill tops etc) should be predominantly royal blue  
4) A number of change strips are available on request
 
5) Although the club will provide all the kit and equipment necessary (including playing kits, balls, bibs, cones and first aid kits), Junior Managers should endeavour to find sponsorship for playing and training kit wherever possible
 
6) All kit and equipment provided remains the property of KDR and should be returned when no longer needed
 
7) Junior Managers should take care of all kit and equipment in their possession and maintain an inventory of all kit and equipment held.  
 
8) Goalposts, nets and corner flags should also be properly looked after and returned after use.
 
SECTION 5 PITCHES
 
1) Pitches should not be used unnecessarily for training and not be used at all, if deemed unfit due to adverse weather  
 
2) Pitches should be booked at the Managers Meetings. Allocated times for pitches at Loshpot Lane will be 9:45am, 11:30am and 1:30pm
 
3) Matches times must be adhered to, and games started on time, to avoid delaying subsequent matches
 
4) If a pitch is unplayable due to bad weather, postponements (or a reversal of the fixture) should be agreed with the opposition and the appropriate Divisional Secretary
 
5) Junior Managers should help to maintain the pitches, marking out when required, replacing divots after every match and re-seeding/re-turfing at the end of the season
 
6) Dog owners should be reminded of the health hazard. Dogs are not allowed on KDR or school pitches
 
7) Junior Managers should agree training times at the start of the season and keep to agreed times to avoid congestion and the overuse of pitches for training
 
 
SECTION 6 FUND RAISING & SOCIAL EVENTS
 
1) In order to allow as many players as possible to play football, KDR will endeavour to keep annual subscriptions low. However, this policy is dependent upon funds being raised from elsewhere.  
 
2) Junior Managers should participate in fund-raising events and encourage their group and supporters to organise and contribute to fund-raising events
 
3) All money raised through these events should be passed to the Club Treasurer for safe banking and recording without delay
 
4) The Committee will look normally favourably in requests for kit and equipment from those groups who have contributed in this way
 
5)  Junior Managers should organise smaller fund raisers (for example, raffles at matches) in order to cover the cost of minor expenditure (postage)
 
6) No large funds should be accumulated by individual groups without the prior consent of the committee
 
 
SECTION 7 USE OF SCHOOLS
 
1) Junior Managers using school facilities must ensure that they are left in a tidy condition at the end of training or matches
 
2) Paths, playgrounds and car parks must be swept to remove all traces of mud and litter
 
3) Due consideration should be given to ensure that cars are properly parked (i.e. not on grassed areas)
 
SECTION 8 ADMINISTRATION
 
1) Junior Managers should collect subscriptions on behalf of the club and by the due date. These should be promptly passed to the Chairman
 
2) Junior Managers should deal with all league forms relating to player registrations, cancellations and transfers for their group, in accordance with league rules
 
3) Junior Managers should submit match report forms to the Results Secretary promptly, in accordance with league rules
 
4) Junior Manages should maintain a register of players and appearances, in accordance with league rules
 
5) Junior Managers are reminded that they are responsible for all fines incurred by their group
 
 
 
SECTION 9 PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT
 
1) Junior Managers should seek to improve their coaching and managerial skills through gaining qualifications, attending coaching seminars etc.
 
2) Junior Managers should attend all necessary courses to maintain and further their knowledge of first-aid
 
3) Junior Managers should encourage at least one member of their group to undertake a referees course
 
 
SECTION 10 TOURS
 
1) It is considered that football tours, both at home and abroad, provide excellent development opportunities for young players. Junior Managers are encouraged to organise such tours for this reason.
 
2) The cost of any tour is primarily the responsibility of the Group and sponsorship or fund-raising will be required to meet the cost
