The club was formed by the caller ''John Kozyra'' in 1998 when he graduated his first beginners class.
  John was learning to call and he thought that the best way to learn the art of calling was to press gang some friends into being his guinea pigs, they all had so much ''FUN'' that they wanted to continue after their graduation and thus the club was formed.
The ''CHAIN GANG'' name is derived from the club venue :- i.e. THE CHAIN LANE COMMUNITY CENTER, in KNARESBOROUGH.

This is our first birthday cake. Our Ist birthday dance was a huge success Tony Collingwood called a great mainstream/plus dance in the evening having called A1/A2 and even a C1 tip earlier in the afternoon so all the dancers at our Birthday party had their share of different dance levels

During the last six years John has had several graduations at mainstream level,  two at A2 and one at C1,  He has a regular Guest Tip at the A1/A2  level and he calls as a stand in caller for two of the local clubs. John has also called guest tips in Holland and the USA.
