30/09/08- The men have their own training session. Tuesdays at Harris Girls Academy from 9pm. It is only an hour for now. The guys will be expected to make both Tuesday's and Wednesday's sessions.

28/09/08- The National Ladies, have had their first 3 matches in Division One. Losing all 3. The first at home against Swiss Cottage 0-3 we didn't play well, then away to Malory 3-0 one of the top teams in the division. Leeds was a much closer match losing 3-2 at home. Just missing out on the win losing the fifth set 14-16.

26/09/08- We have secured two new sponsors Genesis Oil and Gas also Mat & Co Accountants. We are also in discussions with a third. I will update this website with their links soon.

20/04/08 - The National Ladies beat Cambridge 22-25 25-23 25-25 25-21. Although the set scores look close, during the match its self, we felt in control and were unlucky to lose the first set. We also had a small crowd of 30. National League Division One, here we come.

06/04/08 - The national ladies beat Portsmouth 3-0 in front of a crowd of about 50. The first two sets started poorly, before finding their rhythm and getting to playing hard and winning the set. The 3rd set was a strong power play. It was good to see a crowd. Watch this space for conformation of the PLAYOFF match against Cambridge.

14/03/08 - The men were playing Inter at home, with only 6 players. Which turned into a tight 5 setter. Chris pulled a muscle in 4th set but played on. Then Dimo played a power hit through the middle and as he landed he dislocated his knee. Very very painful. The ambulance took about 15 mins. His knee popped back in as he was put on the pain killers. We spent about 3 hours at the hospital before getting him home.

12/03/08 - Lambeth Sports and Tuskers are working together to build their London Youth Games teams and a adult club in the south of the borough. This with our commitment to Southwark is making us a strong force in SE London.

26/02/08 - The men beat White Eagles III 3-1. White Eagles have improved since the last match, especially with new player number 10. Depending on other matches being played, we should top of the league.

22/02/08 - A very good match against Whipps, winning 3-0, A good display of how to play volleyball, with all parts of our game working well. It just shows the improvement we have been making this season.

07/02/08 - London Men have played 3 matches since the new year and won them all. First was away to Powerball winning 3-0, They came to us where the match was closer, this time a 3-1 win. The third match was away to Wapping wildcats, which was a 3-2 win, but I was yellow carded, deservedly, for kicking wildly at the match ball in the 5th set. Giving Wapping a 5-1 lead, we pulled it around to change ends 8-6 up.

27/01/08 - National ladies put a bad performance in the cup behind them and beat Plymouth 3-1 (25-15 25-23 21-25 25-13) making some substitutions in the third set, but with just one change came back strong to finish the match.

25/01/08 - London ladies lost to Lionhearts II, but the London ladies team are still moving in the right direction and improving all the time. Lionhearts showed why they were to of the table. We were also missing our setter for the match.

11/11/07 - The National ladies had the home draw against Loughborough Dolphins in the Ladies KO Cup. We won 3-2 and through to the next round in January. We didn't take control of the game until the 5th set. We can play at a much higher level, but need to start strong and keep the level of play high. Dolphins had a very exciting play using what I would call a "quick away", when the hitter connected, it was a delight to watch.

03/11/07 -  The National team travelled down to Portsmouth for a top of the table clash. Looks like it was a very close match which could of gone either way, with the winner taking the top spot in the league. Unfortunately we lost 14-25 25-16 25-16 24-26 16-14. The result puts Tuskers joint 2nd on 15 points with Reading Aces and Portsmouth with 16 points.

02/11/07 - The men were away to TH Lynx at Bethnal Green. We won the 1st set 25-7, we made a couple of changes and Lynx brought in a couple of players not available for the 1st set. From then it was a close match, with Lynx winning the next 2 sets. Tuskers changing back to the strong 1st 6 for the 4th set, but the momentum was with Lynx, who just managed to hang on for the win.

01/11/07 - Away to Whipps, only 6 players travelled to Leyton for the match. With a late start due to a lost player (no names Abbie) We had a fantastic match, winning the 1st set quite easily, just losing the 2nd, could not serve in the 3rd. We were winning 23-18 in the 4th but their last server served us off the court, giving them a 3-1 win.

20/10/07 - 2 matches played but we lost them both. Away to KS Osemka was a 5 setter although we didn't make the most of our position in the 5th set. Home against Wapping Wildcats, lost 1-3 we should have done better we were 17-12 up in the fourth to lose the set 17-25 Doh!. Not having our extra training venue is hurting us.

15/10/07 - The National ladies team are currently 6th in the division. After playing 4 matches, winning 2 losing 2. The matches we lost we showed how difficult it is to build a new team and at the moment we require more confidence and then we should race up the league.

16/05/07 - Our first match of the season was against Lionhearts. Although we lost 0-3 it was a good game with very few mistakes, just the opposition were to good for us. We also had a couple of players missing. Looks like we are going to have a good season.

21/08/07 - Ok I am back from my holidays and will get this web page back up to date a.s.a.p. The new season is starting soon. So we need to see you all at training, get off your bum's and get back down the sports hall.

21/06/07 - The National ladies team have a new coach. Mr Lilian Blot, who has had experience at National League division two with Norwich Ladies and also has a level II coaching qualification. Welcome to Tuskers Lilian. Just in time to start pre-season in a couple of weeks.

16/05/07 - Looks like we have been lucky and although we did finish 2nd from bottom in Division one, we are not being relegated. Yippee.  I believe there have has been a couple of new teams entering the London Leagues.

30/05/07 - Just to confuse us all, Waverley Sports centre has now changed its name to Harris Sport centre, in line with school name change last September to Harris Academy. The second name change in a couple of years.

26/05/07 - A wet end of season BBQ. First I need to say thanks to Dimo & Moro for helping clear the garden. Although it did start raining the second the BBQ was lit, a good time was had by all. We must do it again soon.

25/05/07 - The last match of the season, was against White Eagles II. For the first half of the match we played well, but didn't win a set and we fell apart in the second half. A sad score of 0-3. Now we are having a nail biting wait on the LVA to decide see which division we will be in next season.

13/05/07 - A away mach to Dynamo Dykes, we lost 0-3, the first set and a half were bad, no excuses, just bad volleyball. On the brighter side of things, we did make a fight of it in the second half and we showed the sort of powerful volleyball we can play. Unlucky to not win the third set.

11/05/07 - The Men win their last game of the season, which was against Powerball. A very tight 5 setter, with the first 2 sets going to Powerball, then two very tight sets where we had to come from behind and one of the sets went to 27-25. The 5th set was a bit one sided. (full result to follow shortly)

02/04/07 - Oops, Sorry, I haven't been keeping the news flowing and the web site updated - just being lazy. The London Ladies have had a win against Whipps 3-0 and lost 0-3 to White Eagles 1. London Men have lost to IVA in a very dark sports hall.

01/04/07 - The National Ladies, finish the season in forth place with 36 points the same as Guildford. Swiss Cottage win the league with 46 points with Leeds second on 42. Daniela was joint second for Most Valuable Player with 7 votes, Megan Hopkins of Salford won MVP with 9 votes.

03/03/07 - The National Ladies, win 3-0 against Cleobury. Taking us back to second in the league. However both the teams around us have matches in hand, but we have the points. Daniela also picked up another vote as Most Valuable Player and leads the table with 5 votes.

02/03/07 - The London men beat Whitton 3-0 at home and after the mid-week win away over KS.Odra (0-3). This finishes the week on a hat trick of wins. This should have us flying up the league table.

24/01/07 - The National Ladies, win their match against Oxford students 3-2. After a week of wrangling within the team. The match went ahead. They won 3-2, keeping the pressure on Swiss Cottage for second place and Leeds for first.

23/02/07 - The London men win, after a few bad games since Christmas. The men have turned it around with a win over K.S.Osemka 3-1. It made a change to have a full squad, for the first time since the first match of the season.

19/01/07 - The London Ladies lost 0-3 to Dynamo Dykes One. They must be the most improved team in the league and have attracted some top players. We didn't play well over all, but there were patches of very good play and if we get it together for the whole match, we will win.

14/01/07 - The Cup match was cancelled the day before. By White Eagles, as they didn't  have enough players to field a team. Now looking forward to the next round.

07/01/07 - The Irish National team visited London and Played Polonia on the Saturday and Tuskers on Sunday. Tuskers National team beat them 3-0 although a close game and Tuskers London team lost 0-3 the first set was very close 23-25, then the Irish took control. The London team especially enjoyed the experience.

3/12/06 - The National ladies team won the second of their home matches. Beating Nottingham Ladies 3-1. We go top of the league with 24 points, Leeds are 2nd with 23 and Swiss Cottage 3rd on 22 points. The main rivals are Swiss Cottage having played 2 less matches and also in London. Tuskers Daniela Sanchez is also top of the Most Valuable Player Award.

2/12/06 - The National ladies team won the first of this weekends home matches 3-1 which took them to 2nd in the league with Leeds still above them with the appeal against that match still to be heard.

1/12/06 - The London men were well beaten 0-3 by Lionhearts II. Not to sure were it all went wrong after just losing the first set 29-31. We then complete fell apart in set 2 and even though the 3rd set was closer but we couldn't put together a win.

20/11/06 - Elizabeth, Sarah and Moro have all pass the the recent referee's course run by the LVA. They join the 5 already qualified referee's we have at Tuskers Volleyball.

19/11/06 - The National ladies team win down at South Hants 2-3 (25-14 24-26 25-18 24-26 13-15) a very close match which could of gone either way. Puts us back to joint 2nd in the league with 2 other teams.

15/11/06 - The Men went over to Richmond to play Whitton. For once the A205 was not grid locked. We won 0-3 (18-25 20-25 14-25) A good match showing that once we are on target and not wasting too many points we will beat anyone.

12/11/06 - The National ladies team had a CUP match away home match against Tees Valley. Winning 0-3 (17-25 10-25 11-25). A good in win after a very long drive.

10/11/06 - London Men lose the home match against KS.Odra (1-3). The first time we have played them. After winning the first set we seemed to misfire by not converting chances and allowing strings of points against us. We could of, should of won.

03/11/06 - The London ladies team won their first home match against Whips 3-1. A well played match, with some good serving from everyone and what a difference a setter makes in controlling the attack. We slowed down in the 3rd set and allowed Whips to take the set, we came back and controlled the 4th set to win the match.

29/10/06 - The National ladies team home match against local rivals Swiss Cottage. They lost 1-3 after winning the first set 27-25. Which made October a bad month for all the Tuskers teams

23/10/06 - London Ladies had their first match against White Eagles 1, who were relegated from the Premier Division. They proved to be a very strong side and beat us 3-0

22/10/06 - The National ladies beat Devon 2-3 (19-25 25-16 25-19 20-25 10-15) Looks like one of those tough battles. Followed by a long drive home.

20/10/06 - The London men traveled to Ealing to play KS Osemka. In the 1st set Richard has a massive muscle cramp and then Joe twists his ankle badly. The third set we just lose. (I was reminded at this match as last year is when Eric twisted his ankle). We Lost 3-0

7/10/06 - The National ladies had a bad weekend, due to one of the cars having an engine failure on the way to Leeds. So they arrived late and lost the first two sets without stepping on court and not all the players there for the 3rd & last set. This match is being appealed. They also lost the Sunday match to City of Salford

06/10/06 - The men win, but this was due to TH Lynx not having enough players to field a team on the night. We did have a 3 set friendly, which we won 2-1.

24/09/06 - The National Ladies win their second match away to Chiltern Ladies. A better score line of 1-3 (21-25 25-18 21-25 23-25). The last set looked very close. We are second in the table with Swiss Cottage, the only teams to have played two, won two.

17/09/06 - The National ladies win their season opener at home, against Guildford. A 3-2 win I don't have much more info at this time. Nice to win one after the last season.

05/09/06 - The fixtures page has been updated with 2006/07 fixtures for National Ladies, London Ladies and London Men.
No London league away matches have been confirmed yet. First London match 6th October at home.

24/08/06 - The London fixtures will be out soon and the National league is already available. I will update the fixtures page as soon as I have all the information.

24/08/06 - Tuskers tournament has been cancelled. Unfortunately we haven't had enough entries to make the tournament viable for Tuskers or enjoyable for the volleyball players.

21/04/06 - The London ladies are having trouble fielding a team, due to a lack of players. So with only six players we were away to Lionhearts We lost, but i don't know the score - sorry 3-1 I think. We were not as gelled as a team and some poor serving at times by the whole team, which was the opposite to the last match. One match to forget.

07/04/06 - Another 5 setter, we must be one of the fittest teams out there with the number of 5 setters we have. (25-8 21-25 25-22 25-13 16-14) A very close last set. If it wasn't for some very good hard serving, which brought us back into the match, we would of found it a lot more  differcult.

05/04/06 - The men loose away to Powerball. a 5 setter.(25-17 27-29 17-25 27-25 15-11) We really let ourselves down in the 5th set by starting very poorly and although we started the fight back, it was too late.  A tough and very close match.

01/04/06 - The ladies loose the last away match to Wessex 1-3 (23-25 18-25 28-26 19-25), Yet again thy show they can win tough sets, but are unable to put together a string of sets to win a match. Last match of the season tomorrow (02 April) at Waverley school. 1pm warm-up. Fingers crossed for this one.

30/03/06 - The MEN have had two matches first at home to KS Osemka 3-2 (19-25 25-22 16-25 25-19 -11), why can't we just have match where we start on fire and win in 3 sets!. The second was against Lionhearts II, this is the first time we have played them this season. A 0-3 win (16-25 22-25 20-25) They played a very fast game , but they were unable to compete with our power.

23/03/06 - The ladies win a scrappy match at Dulwich College against Whitton 2-1 (London Challenge Cup matches are 3 setters i.e. you can win 2-1 or 3-0). It is good to se another win for the ladies, lets just hope they can move forward from here and win a couple more matches before the end of season.

14/03/06 - The men had a 3-0 (24-26 22-25 12-25) away win to Met.Police. A nice match apart from Brian's injury before the match had started and Jonathan's thumb connecting to Chris's elbow in the second set

26/02/06 - The men win again, this time against IVA. 3-1 (29-27 25-19 23-25 25-18) A very close first set, trading point for point until we won it with 29 points. Second set going our way, the third another close set this time going to IVA, we finished the match with a very strong fourth set. With other teams in the league having played more matches than us we are sitting in the middle with a chance to rush up the league

26/02/06 - National league ladies, win their 2nd match, away to Salford. 0-3 (20-25 19-20 19-20). Lets hope they can win a couple more before the end of season.

18/02/06 - Away to Polonia the National ladies, were well beaten 3-0 (25-14 25-15 25-18). By the looks of the scores Tuskers did not play well and after so many close 5 setters we did expect a better score line and result, maybe the toll of the a bad season is starting to have its effect on the team. They need to show their fighting spirit and go for the teams at the bottom of the table and get a couple of wins this season.

16/02/06 - The men do the double over Whapping with another 5 setter, this time we were the away team. (25-16 25-18 18-25 17-25 15-13) The was very close, but our general unforced errors at the start caused us to have the early problems. Once our blocking kicked in, it was Whapping with the unforced errors. A very tight 5th set with Whapping getting one point closer than last time.

12/02/06 - The ladies loose to Malory again, this was the fifth meeting of the two teams in just over a couple of weeks. I believe we sick of playing them, even though there are a couple of Tuskers friends within their team. The usual tight first half to each set with a collapse in the third quarter, followed by a fight back towards the end and running out points.

10/02/06 - The new for 2006, London Challenge Cup for the top ladies teams, haven't gone to well so far. We have just played two matches against Malory, which went with the National League form. Hopefully we will do better against Whitton.

20/01/06 - The men played Polonia and lost 0-3 (22-25 16-25 16-25). The first set was very close and could of gone either way The second set was hard fought but the score does not reflect that and in the third we were well beaten. Overall we played well and we didn't make many mistakes and if we hadn't of lost Eric to injury in the first set the result may have been different.

19/01/06 - Next week ONLY, the national league ladies will train at Waverley on Wednesday and the London teams will train at Dulwich College on Thursday both sessions 8-10pm.

14/01/06 - Not what we wanted to hear. The national ladies travelled up to Wolverhampton and lost. 3-0 (25-11 25-12 25-11) a bad day all-round by the looks of the scores. So I don't think we will be putting any pressure on the league leaders just yet.

08/01/06 - National Ladies win a tough 5 setter (25-23 27-25 20-25 20-25 15-10) against second in the table Portsmouth. Hopefully the first win in this division this season will give us the confidence to win a few more matches, especially those matches where we were wining 2-0 and then lost.  Go for it Ladies.

09/12/05 - The men lose to TH Lynx. A tough 5 setter, which we should of won, but we let TH Lynx back into the match and then we could not get the upper hand in the 5th set.

04/12/05 - London Ladies beat Lionhearts in straight sets 3-0 (25-2 25-17 25-11). Good serving from all players and power hitting allowed us to control the game from the start. It is nice to see a winning smile on the ladies.

03/12/05 - The national ladies travelled to Warwick, it must of been a bit of a nightmare journey as they lost 3-0 (25-10 25-19 25-14). We were hoping for a better result from this match, as Warwick are close to us at the bottom of the table.

02/12/05 - London men beat Powerball 3-0 (25-16 25-22 25-23) The match started on time for a change. We started well not allowing Powerball to settle. The 2nd set was closer but we were in control. The third started with Powerball taking the lead, but we fought back to take the lead, however they came back to be winning 23-22, before we finished off the set and match.

25/11/05 - London ladies lose a close 5 setter against TH Lynx. A good match all round, with some really good passages  play. However there was some bad bits as well, especially on service receive at times. Very good overall, but let TH lynx get ahead in the 5th set and could not quite get back at them.

18/11/05 - The men went to KS Osemka and lost 3-0 which looks bad, but it wasn't that bad a match even having the lead in the three sets 25-21 29-27 25-22. Looking forward to playing them at home.

11/11/05 - The men win their first home match. 3-0 (25-19 25-15 25-14) against the Met Police, making a double after our London Ladies win earlier in the week. A good match from our point of view, with a disciplined performance with very few unforced errors. However the video has still to reviewed.....

08/10/05 - London Ladies have played and won their first match season. They were away to Met Police. A close match until the fourth set. Tuskers win 3-1 (27-25 21-25 25-21 25-8)

30/10/05 - A good match with a very good start against City of Salford. Tuskers started strong and were 2-0 up before some sloppy and tired looking play in the middle of the third set. Allowing Salford to get back into the match and then to go on to win the match 3-2.

29/10/05 - Men at last play a match. Our first of the season against IVA. We WON 1-3 dropped the first set by 2 points and won the second by 2 points, by the fourth set we were in control and took the easy win. Hey and we looked good in the new kit.

23/10/05 - Lost sets 2-3 a much improved and they just missed out on their first win of the season against Polonia Ladies from the other side of London

15/10/05 - The first won away to Loughborough Students 20-25, but we were hammered 25-7, with a strong fight back and just losing the third set 28-26. The final set 25-14. Moving forward but still looking for the first win of the season.

09/10/05 - Not a good start to the season for the National Ladies team, losing their first two matches 0-3 away to Portsmouth and home to Wolverhampton. Lets hope they improve and start winning soon.

01/09/05 - Poole tny - The men finished 4th of 20 teams and could of finished higher if we didn't lose a outside hitter on the final day. The ladies we not so lucky, only having 4 players and for once unable to pick up a couple of spare players.

07/08/05 - The TUSKERS London kit design is ready and is being made as I write this. We will fly the kit in from Hong Kong soon. To see the kit on the TEAMS page

13/07/05 - James  Alleyns Girls school. Have stuck to their new prices and therefore the pricing volleyball has jumped from £70 a session to £170 a session, which is prohibitive to us.  Tuskers have been at JAGS for many years and it is a sad fact that JAGS are not interested in competitive sport any more.
Now its only for the rich to play knock about badminton.
This is not only a sad day for volleyball but also the Table tennis club and any other indoor sport which may have used the jags sports hall.

09/05/05 - JAGS have put up their visitor prices from £3.50 to £8.50 or for volleyball court hire from £70 to £170 for not even 2 hours volleyball.

27/04/05 - The men lose to White Eagles in a are hard hitting match. 1-3 we were unable to keep up in the second half in each set. We did have some very good passages of play and the set we did win, was very good all round play.

24/04/05 - The national league ladies win their play-off match against Cleobury and go straight back up to National Division One.  A straight forward 3-0 (25-19 25-19 25-23) match. Third set was closer, but Tuskers were in complete control, with good distribution from Shirley (setter) and good serving from all the players.

10/04/05 - Darren announces the arrival of Alex Hemple. Gloria and Alex are doing well and both are home already. Darren has changed a nappy, not sure if he has done more than one.

03/04/05 - Tuskers ladies win the last match of the season 3-2. 15-9 in the last set. We are now just waiting for the for the results from the other matches to see if we need to have a play off to go to Division One.

31/03/05 - Tuskers receive two grants from Southwark Council. The 1st is the on going but increase to £4000, schools project and the 2nd a £2800 for Tuskers Saturday morning club at Elephant & Castle Recreation Centre, again aimed at both junior and secondary school children. Both will run to end of Mach 2006.

20/03/05 -  Tuskers National ladies team beat TH Lynx 3-0 (25-8 25-12 25-18).This result confirms that Tuskers will finish this season in second place. However we need to wait until the last matches of the season to see whether Tuskers and Cleobury need to have a playoff to see who goes to National Division One.

05/03/05 - The level one coaching course, put on by Tuskers and Southwark Council. Had 21 successful attendees passed the end of course exam. All seem to have enjoyed the course.

27/02/05 - The national league ladies win both matches. 3-1 against Birmingham on Saturday and a controlled 3-0 over Cleobury Sunday, who were top of the league and have now dropped to third, with Salford now top, having found some missing results!! Tuskers still second.

27/02/05 - Everyone seemed to have enjoyed the coaching course. Thank you Ed & Waverley School. Looking forward to the results later this week. We had 21 participants, from all ages and skill levels. Now all I have to do, is the paper work!!

06/02/05 -  A 3-1 win over Devon take Tuskers to second in the league, maybe top not sure if we are missing one result. Tuskers were in control in the whole match, although they did make it a bit to close for a easy win. Looks like the lost to Devon in the cup was a one off.

29-30/01/05 - The national league Ladies win both their matches this weekend. A 3-0 win away to Chiltern and a home win at Brixton Rec. Score of 3-1 does not show how close this match was. Tuskers were making too many unforced errors, to make it a comfortable win. Which they are capable of.

05/12/04 - Tuskers Ladies win at home against Cambridge 3-0 25-22 25-18 25-20. Which takes them to 2ND in the league, behind Cleobury.

28/11/04 - Tuskers lose to a  match against Mavericks of Malmesbury. Shirley received a red card (I don't have the details yet), thus losing the 3rd set and the match 3-0 25-17 25-19 25-23.

27/11/04 - Tuskers Ladies travel down to Devon again, to be knocked out of the cup after a close 5 setter 3-2. Winners are to play Malory in the next round.
