NTPQRY

Synopsis

NTPQRY [/?] [/BYIP[+|-]] [/SRV_SUPERDOMAINS[+|-]] [/SRV_SELF[+|-]] [/IMPLICIT[+|-]] [/IP6ADDR[+|-]] [/CLIENTIP[+|-]] [/CLIENTPORT[+|-]] server

Description

The NTPQRY command is a thin command-line wrapper around a lightweight NTP client. It sends a query to the given server and waits for a response. It prints both the query and the response(s) in a compact, yet human-readable, form.

NTPQRY locates servers from the server string supplied in the normal way, using ntp as the service name, udp as the transport name, and 123 as the well-known port number.

NTPQRY has the same NTP client as the NTPSYNC command, and can be used to diagnose any problems with it.
