Synopsis

Options

Display command syntax information.

Description

The TRUENAME command displays the fully qualified pathname for each of the file specifications given as its arguments. If the file specification does not include a drive specificiation, and isn't a UNC name, the default drive is assumed. If the file specification does not include a directory prefix, the current directory on the relevant drive is assumed.

If no arguments are given, the TRUENAME command will display the fully qualified pathname of the current directory. This is different to the behaviour of the TRUENAME command that is built into the COMMAND supplied with IBM OS/2.

TRUENAME does not concern itself with wildcards. TRUENAME treats wildcard characters just like any other characters.
