Description

The LABEL command is used to set the volume label for one or more drives. Without any arguments it will display the volume label for the current drive and prompt for a new label.

The arguments are a list of drive specifiers optionally followed by labels. If an explicit label is supplied, the volume label for that drive is set to the label noninteractively, otherwise the LABEL command will display the volume label for the drive and prompt for a new label.

Examples

[c:\]label B:SOURCE+DIST C:
The volume label in drive C: is WARP.
The Volume Serial Number is 6c01:ab46.
Enter a volume label of up to 11 characters
or press Enter for no volume label update.

[c:\]label B:
The volume label in drive B: is SOURCE+DIST.
The Volume Serial Number is 0000:0001.
Enter a volume label of up to 11 characters
or press Enter for no volume label update.
