Synopsis

ECHO [/?] [ON|OFF|text]

Options

Display command syntax information.

Description

The ECHO command either writes a string to its standard output, or modifies the echo status maintained internally by the command interpreter. If its argument is the single word "ON", it turns the echo status on. If its argument is the single word "OFF", it turns the echo status off. Otherwise it writes its argument to standard output.

If no argument is supplied, ECHO will write to its standard output text indicating whether the echo status is currently on or off.
