There's a football match on this evening. This has had several effects:

• The Ceroc Shrewsbury opening night scheduled for today has been postponed to 2006-07-12

• Ceroc Nuneaton is closed this week

• Ceroc Burton-on-Trent is closed this week

• Ceroc Wolverhampton is open. Mike is holding a "Red, White, and Blue" freestyle night at the J11 Club, WV10 7LZ, with the football match showing on a large screen television whilst everyone dances.

• Ceroc Sutton Coldfield is open as normal. Sutton Coldfield has never closed for football matches in the past, and today is to be no exception. The lesson will be as normal. But it's probably best if you don't let anyone tell Andy the score. ☺

• Want2Dance Alcester is open as normal.

• Ceroc Kidderminster is open, but different to normal. Nikki will be teaching. But Debbie Two will be off watching the match so there will only be a Beginners' class, at a reduced rate of £4 for the evening, with pure freestyle for the remainder of the evening.

  I predict that the television in the bar area will also be showing the match, and that there might be some people who need a little coaxing out of the bar and onto the dance floor. ☺

I've enquired about Ceroc Leicester and Ceroc Milton Keynes, but there has as yet been no response. It's probably safest, given the above, to assume that venues not detailed above will not be open unless you can confirm otherwise.

The Ceroc Nantwich freestyle scheduled for today has been cancelled, because of repair work on Nantwich Civic Hall. Tickets already purchased are transferrable to another month.

You may be wondering at the two silver entries. I'm planning to do something mad. The Sutton Coldfield freestyle (Mmmm! Scampi and Chips!) finishes at 23:30. Nuneaton is about 10–15 minutes down the M6 from there. So it should be possible to leave Sutton Coldfield, whiz over to Nuneaton, and get an extra hour and a quarter's further dancing in.

It was. ☺ And I wasn't the only person to do this.

There's also some event on in Rugby, according to a flyer that someone left on my car. But the web site for the organization running it is blank except for a big square box that only works if one has some proprietary plug-in. There's no actual text on the web site at all. Obviously the people who run the event don't want the world to know about it. Otherwise they would have used ordinary HTML. I shall therefore oblige them by not giving any information about it here, either.

The Ceroc Gloucester web site is almost as bad, with menus that don't work without silly plug-ins (You can do hyperlinks with ordinary HTML, people!), but at least it is partially navigable for those of us who remember the old URLs, and contains some textual content. Go to Gloucester.
