Jon Mills: Melodeon & Caller. With over 30 years experience playing, teaching and calling for traditional dance he thinks it's about time he learnt when to stop. He has performed at festivals in Sidmouth, Lorient, Pontardawe, Chippenham, Orkney, Falmouth, Metz, Luxembourg., on TV series for BBC Wales & S4C. He is one of the organisers of Pentreffest, running small weekend dance festivals around Wales.
Guy Bowden: Guitar, Melodeon, Harmonica. Has been playing for rather more years than he cares to admit, Guy has played in rock, blues, contemporary and traditional folk bands. He has performed at various Welsh, English and Scottish Festivals and folk clubs; and made appearances on BBC Wales and Grampian TV. He has also played at the National Eisteddfodd, but as he doesn't speak Welsh he didn't understand it...He currently also plays in another South Wales -based band and for a local dance side."
Meriel Field: Fiddle , Voice. Meriel started the violin while still at school, and though it took a back place while she was studying as a singer, specialising in Early Music, the discovery of traditional music after she moved back to her native Wales gave it a new lease of life. She is fascinated by the different styles of playing from around the world, and has studied with Jaques Mayoud, Louise Schultz and Chris Stout. Meriel also sings in a duo with guitarist and lutenist Scott Baker, with a repertoire ranging from John Dowland to Kurt Weill.
Bill Fletcher: Bass. Bill has played double bass for over 12 years in the Midlands and South Wales with jazz musicians like Danny Moss, Ian Carr and Osian Roberts. Now leads own jazz quintet. Previously played with Sheffield Symphony Orchestra on bassoon during early 1980's. Main jazz influences are Charles Mingus and Rahsaan Roland Kirk. Other influences are Orchestre National De Barbes (French/North African), and Squarepusher1 (Breakbeat/dance). Not content with playing the lowest pitch instrument in the band he also plays the highest. His Sopranino recorder playing has recently caught the imagination of Radio 4 audiences.
Imogen O'Rourke: Flute. The fastest flute in South Wales. After leaving Dartington College of Music, Imogen played with several bands in the the Cardiff area, but got fed up with playing The Flight of the Bumble Bee - so took herself off to the wilds of Iberia to imbibe much vino and music in equal doses. Back again she divides her time between several dance bands and the group Celtish.
