latest TIGGER TOUR
RESULTS
Horsham - 12 August
They played in atrocious
weather but all stuck at it. The under 9's and below
played from short tees down the fairway and everyone
played well on a tricky tight course .I'm afraid I
didn't count but I would guess there were 25-30
competitors.

under 12's
Championship at Boars Head GC
yesterday.
All their performances
were exceptional given the short amount of time that
most of them have been playing golf, especially given
that this was not just an ordinary event but a Sussex
County Championship. The young junior section is
expanding rapidly and these boys are leading the way.
The experiences they are gaining against much more
experienced opposition, will hold them in good stead for
future competitions.
Henry Jackson and Joe
Setten (handicaps 36) played well and returned scores of
29 points. Both boys felt they could have had better
scores so that is good for the future.
Thomas Haynes (36) and
Connor Dixon (23) recorded excellent scores of 33
points.
On this occasion our best
performer was George Tillman (36) who finished 7th with
36 points, and returned with Hill Barn's first trophy
for many years from a junior county championship for his
best back nine of 22 points.
I attach a copy of the
full results, list of prize winners and photo.
Keep enjoying your golf
and making Hill Barn proud of you!

Sussex County Tigger Tour
- Lindfield (Red tees u'9's and older.Par 3 for U'8's
and younger)
Tuesday 5th August
I am pleased to report
that Hill Barn youngsters had another successful time at
the second event on this years tour. This time we had 6
youngsters competing in the event out of more than 30
juniors from all over Sussex. Together they once again
won 3 out of the 8 age groups.
Once again they all
performed well and did both themselves and Hill Barn
proud.
Tom Haynes was 1st in the
under boys 12's with his 58. Henry Jackson competing in
his first event (and in only his second game on a full
sized course) scored an excellent 65.
Connor Dixon once again
won the U'11 boys age group with a 59.
And Penny Brown's 72 saw
her again return as winner of the girls U'10 age group.
In the U'9's Milo Liau,
must be congratulated as he had only previously played
on par 3 courses, Milo turned up at Lindfield believing
he was playing on a par 3 course. He teed it up off the
reds, got on with it, and finished the 9 holes with a
brilliant 73. Well done Milo.
The standard in these
events is getting higher as each week goes by, this week
the best score off the reds tees was an amazing 44 from
one of the experienced U'9' boys.
In the boys U'7 event the
standard was also high and Rae Bicknell's 58 saw him
finish in 3rd place.
This Thursday (7th
August), 5 of the Boys will be playing in the Sussex
U'12 Championship at Boars Head GC. Good luck to Tom
Haynes, Joe Setten, Henry Jackson, George Tillman and
Connor Dixon. Play well, enjoy yourselves and learn from
the experience.

out of more than 30 juniors from all over Sussex.
Together they won 3 out of the 8 age groups.
They all performed well
and did both themselves and Hill Barn proud.

William Townsend, did superbly to shoot 54 in his first

Our
Junior section is very healthy but this isn't just for
the 'older' youngsters, there is a lot going on with the
under10 and 12 year olds. Keith Renwick is running a
very popular coaching session on Saturday's, contact him
for details on this if you have young
children/grandchildren who are interested in playing
golf.
We are proud
to let you know that, representing Hill Barn, 5 of the
youngsters Keith has been coaching played in a Sussex
County organised event for U'12's, for non handicap
golfers at Slinfold Park par 3 golf course (11th
May).
With a limit of one prize to each competitor, they all
returned with Prizes;
Rae
Bicknell was the overall winner
Tom
Haynes won the U'12 event
Joshua Earl was runner up in the U'12 event
Penelope Brown won the U'10 event
Milo Liau was runner up in the U'10 event.
Keith and
his wife Nicky went along to support the youngsters and
with their parents they all had an enjoyable afternoon
at Slinfold. Keith must be credited for the success of
the youngsters especially those who only started to play
golf when they first attended the lessons with Keith.
