Sandra
Connor - has
been with the Players for many years and played a wide assortment
of parts. Her last starring role was as the wicked lead
in Lady Audley's Secret, which Sandra enjoyed immensely.
She always says that her current part is her favourite.
Sandra is Treasurer of the Players.
Tony
Connor
- has been a member for many years designing and
building sets, he is a bit of a whiz with electrics.
Took his first major role in The Odd Couple
as Jesus Costazuela. Last seen in in
the Spring production of Rumours. Tony is sometimes
a reluctant actor, but never fails to give a superb performance.
Brenda
Culverhouse - has acted in, or has directed, many plays
for the
Players, having been a founder member in the late 1960s.
She most recently appeared in the monologue, The Hand
of God, in our winter tour and, last November, played
June Buckeridge in the successful The Killing of Sister
George. Brenda is Secretary of the players. Directed
the acclaimed Autumn production of Houseguest
Heather Cumner - has been with the Players for over
20 years. She is an experienced actress but also a talented
backstage worker in almost any capacity. Heather has particularly
fond memories of playing Miss Prism in The Importance
of Being Earnest and Madame Arcati in Blithe Spirit.
She received praise for a monologue, Nights In The Gardens
of Spain. Heather works as a receptionist in a doctors'
group practice.
Peter
Delacey- joined the company last year and has since
performed in the Winter tour and productions of Farndales
Macbeth and Rumours. When Peter is not on stage
he is helping to keep 'Entente Cordiale' strong with his
job at Eurostar!
John
Ford- joined the company in 2003 and performed his first
major production with the players in that springs revival
of Gaslight, having made his debut during the winter
tour. Has since played various roles including the hapless
Sidney Hopcroft in the Alan Ayckbourn farce Absurd Person
Singular and Len in Rumours. He is a member of
the committee.
Carol
Johnson - Last seen as Claire in the Spring production
of Rumours. Carol first appeared for the players
in Rattigans The Winslow Boy and has taken
many parts since. Carol has played characters of all ages
with this and othergroups; despite having sworn never to
get into directing, has recently been persuaded to do so
for the winter tours.
Frances
Jones - Joined the company in January 2003 and first
performed on that years winter tour. Took the part of Elizabeth
for the Winchfield Festival performance of Gaslight.
Last seen as Phoebe in Lady Audley's Secret.
Gordon
Jones - Our technical guru, Gordon has put in a tremendous
amount of work in recent months to familiarise himself with
the many disciplines needed during a theatre production.
To date he has shown no inclination to tread the boards
other than to check the stage lighting, but never say never
Gordon!
Ann
Kay - has been involved with drama since a child and
joined CCP in 1968. She loves comedy and farce and her favourite
part was the vicar's wife in See How They Run. Ann
was last seen in Houseguest and has an ambition to
play someone "really horrid"
Jackie
Kennedy - made her players debut in the spring production
of Rumours, Jackie has quickly established herself
in the group, joining the committee during the summer. She
cut her acting teeth playing numerous lead roles whilst
at school. Last seen as the distraught wife in Houseguest
Kerry
Mann - has directed two productions for the Players,
The Odd Couple and a winter tour. Kerry has a particular
interest in mime and has organised fascinating workshops
- his main influence being the discipline of commedia dell'arte.
Kerry is involved in the organisation of the Winchfield
Festival, which is a welcome distraction from making his
living as a printer.
Flora
Morrison- Joined
the company in January and has quickly established her self
as an invaluable behind the scenes star. Recently took on
te role of makeup artist, so everyone is being particularly
nice to her now!
David
Simpson - Our Chairman, David has many years of experience
on stage. He is remembered for his General Sir William Boothroyd
in Lloyd George Knew My Father and the demanding
roles of "Sir" in The Dresser and Arthur
in The Winslow Boy. David is usually to be found
on holiday, or doing something connected with his large
tribe of grandchildren.
Prudence
Vincent - has been acting since she was 3½ years
old, first as a Forget-me-Not and lastly as "Mam"
in Say Something Happened for our successful winter
tour of 2002. Prudence has been in drama groups in England
and also with the British High Commission Drama Group in
New Delhi - talent spotted for a Laura in Tea and Sympathy
- her favourite part.
Geoff
Wickes - has been in drama and pantomime for 15 years,
playing a variety of parts, including the Demon King.
His favourite part to date was in Silly Cow by Ben Elton
and is proud to have directed a local Drama Festival winner
in 1999. He was last seen as Sydney Bruhl in Deathtrap
Geoff enjoyed playing someone who is not a murderer in the
Spring prodction of Gaslight where he took the role
of Rough. He returns to more familiar ground soon!
David
Wimpenny - David has been involved with the Players
for many years on both sides of the curtain. He was last
seen ias the rougish Luke Marks in Lady Audley's Secret.
David has also been giving a passable impression of Jamie
Oliver, producing some excellent cuisine to keep the troops
fed during our events.
