Needlelace - Close up of centre one side
Close up of leaf.
|
Half one side.
Piece made for the front of a V-necked shirt, machine sewing cotton and beads and dyed fine tulle. Took me about a year to do, its about 10 inches each side. I adapted it from two pictures of old lace I saw in a book. |

Bobbin lace motifs, all done from the same pattern just using different fills in the various parts and different threads. All are machine sewing cotton. The mauve one is a shiny thread that was very hard to work but came out looking pretty good. I've not sewed in the ends on that one yet, as you can see there are a lot of end to hide away. |

Sleeve edging and Motif in Needlelace I did for the front
of a shirt, which has since fallen apart but the lace went on, tough
stuff. :O)
Its done in sewing cotton and fine net for the leaves. They are the same colour its the scan that wouldn't show it the same. The sleeve edging has a bead in the centre of each flower. These were some of my first long term needlelace projects the sleeve one went around both sleeves of a short sleeve shirt and measured about 15 inches each piece. It took me about 3 months to do |

Needlelace face I did from a photo of Pierce Brosnan. This
is my first go at a face and hopefully it came out reasonable. I shall try
a few others when I get the time. This is quite small at 1 and a quarter
inches x 1 and three quarter inches. It uses one strand of DMC embroidery
thread and lots of squinting. :O) Jan 2006 |
