Sparkle

Another simple bit of fun, here! Adding
a little bit of "sparkle" to your pages is as easy as
this:
Open a new canvas (approximately 120x120pix should be enough). Draw
a 100x1pix white line, faded at both ends, and centre the image
in the document (COMMANDS>DOCUMENT>CENTRE IN DOCUMENT). If
you aren't sure how to create this effect, check out my FADE
LINE tutorial before you go any further! Once you have done
this, clone the line (EDIT>CLONE) and rotate it by 90° (MODIFY>TRANSFORM>ROTATE).
You should now see this:

O.K., now to save a bit of time! Group
the two lines by clicking EDIT>SELECT ALL then clicking MODIFY>GROUP.
Once you have done this, let's put a bit of swing on them!
Clone this new group, then click MODIFY>TRANSFORM>NUMERIC
TRANSFORM. Select the setting as shown below, then click O.K.

You should now see something like
this:

While this new group is still selected,
again click MODIFY>TRANSFORM>NUMERIC TRANSFORM and select
the settings shown below:

And this is the result!

We're not done yet, though! Every
twinkle has a star at the centre of it, so draw a small 10pix circle
with white fill and centre it in the canvas. Open the Effects panel
and apply Gaussian Blur (EFFECTS>BLUR>GAUSSIAN BLUR), with
a Blur Radius setting of 2 to the circle to get this effect:

Now for a corona effect! Heads up,
now!
Draw a 20pix circle and centre it in the canvas. Open the "Stroke"
panel, and apply a "1pixel-soft" white pencil stroke.
Click the fill tool in the main toolbar, and select the "no
fill" colour for the circle. Now, apply a Gaussian blur effect,
with a setting of 1. Next, add a bit of Glow from the Effects panel
(EFFECTS>SHADOW AND GLOW>GLOW), using the following settings:

And there you have it! You should
be seeing something like this:

All that remains is to group the whole
image (EDIT>SELECT ALL, MODIFY>GROUP) and you can then play
with the "Transform" tool (MODIFY>TRANSFORM>FREE
TRANSFORM) to rotate those sparkles all over your page!
Have fun!
