11. Praeludium in A minor. -D. Buxtehude (1637-1707)
Born in Denmark, Buxtehude was the foremost  composer of organ music in the North German style. His works had an immense influence on J.S. Bach who travelled 200 miles to Lubeck to hear him play, outstaying his leave, much to the annoyance of his employers. His Praeludium in Am consists of lively toccata-like sections interspersed with pieces in fugal style. It concludes with dramatic scale passages, adventurous chord progressions and ending with a final A major chord.

12.  Praeludium in C. -D. Buxtehude (1637-1707)
See No.6 for information about Buxtehude. This praeludium is very similar in style to his Am. Being in C major it is of a more cheerful, almost frivolous nature.

13. Toccata and Fugue in Dm.  J.S. Bach (1685-1750)
Perhaps no other organ work has been performed as often as this one, with the possible exception of the almost infamous 5th Movement  of  Widor’s 5th Symphony for Organ, the Toccata. A search engine will give over 27,000 references to the Toccata & Fugue in Dm and the music has been used in innumerable films. Strangely, there is some doubt among musicologists as to whether J.S. Bach actually composed it.
