Woodlands H.Q. was the nerve sentre of the whole operation.
Woodlands was situated near the Sembawang shipyards, in a large stone colonial building.

There was the Communications Centre (ComCen), Flight watch, Systems Control, Secure Equipemnt Section, Systems Workshops and Administration.

Our job was to look after the communications between Singapore and other military sites, such as Hong Kong, Gan and UK. We had a comms link with the Americans in Manila. As well as a flight watch service with incoming aircraft, passing operational info back to UK.

The communications was carried out on HF frequencies, using a power transmission of 20Kw.

Our main media of transmission used teleprinters with FSK, (frequency shift keying ) transmission. Each transmitter had upton 12 channels of information, depending of course on the method of transmission. There were circuits using voice which took more resources than teleprinting, so reducing the no of channels on a circuit.
