It was decided this year to take part in both the Electric and Methanol events. We had not done the Electric challenge before so this was a new venture for us. Our technology teacher, Mr. Swain, thought it would be a good idea to try to make a replica of the Porsche 917 car for the Electric challenge, and the Aston Martin DBRS9 for the Methanol event. Gulf Oil links both these cars, so it was decided to ask them to sponsor us. They agreed with this and so both the cars are to be painted in their well known light blue and orange colours. The different pictures on this page show our two cars in mock up form. Neither are painted yet in their final colours.
