Big Finish are rumoured to be planning another hardback Bernice Summerfield anthology for 2004.

Mad Norwegian Press have announced that they will be issuing a new edition of Lawrence Miles' Dead Romance in 2004. The book was first published in 1999 as part of Virgin Publishing's range of New Adventures. The book will also include a short story, and permission has been gained from Big Finish and Paul Cornell to keep all mentions of Bernice Summerfield in the book. It will be published as both a paperback and a limited edition hardback.

BBV have announced that they will not not be producing any further audio dramas, apart from the continuing Faction Paradox series.

Over the past few years they have released spin-offs from several of the Doctor Who novels including I Scream which was a spin-off from Jon Blum and Kate Orman's Seeing I, and The Quality of Mercy which featured Guy de Carnac, a character created for Sanctuary, David A McIntee's 1995 novel.

FANDERSON, the official Gerry Anderson fan club, released Space: 1999 — Earthbound in August. Written by EC Tubb, Earthbound contains a novelisation of Earthbound — the only first season episode not to be novelised in the 1970s, as well as novelisations based on the original draft scripts to The Exiles and The Immunity Syndrome.

The second Faction Paradox comic has been delayed until 12th November.

Telos have finally revealed details of their fourteenth Doctor Who novella — the last to be announced. It is Blood and Hope by Iain McLaughlin and is due to be published in January. The novella will feature the Fifth Doctor, meaning all incarnations to date will have been featured in the range, and will also see the first print appearance of Erimem, who was created for the Eye of the Scorpion audio play from Big Finish.

Frayed, the September novella by Tara Samms (aka Stephen Cole), has dropped back to November due to delays at the BBC.

Telos have also released details of the second and third titles in their spin-off Time Hunter series. The Tunnel at the End of the Light is written by Stefan Petrucha and will be published in March next year, while The Clockwork Woman by Claire Bott is due for release in June.

The website of the New Zealand Doctor Who Fan Club will commence online publication of the 1996 Doctor Who novel Who Killed Kennedy on 22nd November. In an unusual twist the book is also being re-written by original author David Bishop to provide a second version which will remove the JFK links.

The novelisation of The Scream of the Shalka — the forthcoming Doctor Who audio play starring Richard E Grant — will now not be released until February next year.

The release of the first Faction Paradox novel — This Town Will Never Let Us Go by Lawrence Miles — has been delayed until October due to production problems.

The latest Doctor Who eBook started to appear online on August 22nd. Lungbarrow, by Marc Platt, was the final New Adventure novel to be published featuring the Seventh Doctor. The text has been revised by the original author, with illustrations being provided by Daryl Joyce.

BBC Books are also to release a hardback volume containing the complete television scripts to The League of Gentlemen in October.

Following the success of the first four audio dramas, BBV have revealed plans to release two more CD's featuring the continuing adventures of Faction Paradox. No date has yet been set but Movers and A Labyrinth of Histories should be out in the near future. Both stories are again written by Lawrence Miles.

The title of the first in the planned series of six novels based on The Prisoner has been announced. The Prisoner's Dilemma, by Jon Blum and Rupert Booth, is due to be released sometime next spring. All of the books are apparently to be set within the timeframe of the original seventeen episode series.

The Space: 1999 anthology planned for release later this year is to be called Shepherd Moon.

The BBC has announced that Richard E Grant is to star as the Ninth Doctor in a new Doctor Who webcast during November.

The Scream of the Shalka is being written by popular Doctor Who novelist Paul Cornell, who has also been commissioned to write a novelisation of the story, which is provisionally scheduled for release in December.

This will not be part of the regular book series, and no news has been announced on how this will affect the ongoing series of books featuring the Eighth Doctor.

Big Finish have revealed that they will releasing two more volumes of Doctor Who short stories in 2004 as well as a further two volumes of scripts based on their successful range of Doctor Who audios.

The second title in the Faction Paradox range has been announced. Of the City of the Saved..., written by Philip Purser-Hallard, will be published next March.

Reynolds & Hearn, publishers of numerous books on television, film and music, are rumoured to be working on a two-volume set of scripts from The Prisoner.

The Dalek Factor, written by award-winning author Simon Clark, has been announced as the fifteenth and final title in the Telos range of Doctor Who novellas. Details of the fourteenth novella are not expected to be announced until September.

In other news Telos have revealed that the first book in the spin-off Time Hunter series has been moved back to November and will be published at the same time as the two Doctor Who novellas which are being re-issued in paperback.

Big Finish have announced details of the fifth in their series of Doctor Who short story anthologies.

Short Trips 5: Steel Skies is to be edited by John Binns and is currently due for release in December.

The stories are being written by Peter Anghelides, John Binns, Jonathan Blum, Graeme Burk, Jeremy Daw, Matthew Griffiths, Simon Guerrier, Matt Jones, William Keith, Paul Leonard, Rebecca Levene, Lance Parkin, Marc Platt, Richard Salter, Cavan Scott, Huw Wilkins and Mark Wright.

The forthcoming Balor Saga has undergone a change of name and will now be called Eternity Unbound.

The contents of the books will include Eternity Unleashed — "Balor's rise and fall, the story of Progron's descent into decadence and anarchy," End of Eternity — a new, expanded novelisation of the season one story and a revised and expanded version of the previously released Resurrection.

A two-CD audio book version of Resurrection is due to be recorded by Victor Bergman actor Barry Morse in the next few months for release later in the year.

Telos have announced that they have gained permission from the BBC to publish an extra Doctor Who novella — this means that by the time their license expires next year the range will consist of fifteen titles.

In other news they have announced that two of last year's releases — Ghost Ship and Foreign Devils — are to be issued in paperback later this year. Both novels have already sold out in the standard hardback edition and the reprint will contain just the novella, without the introductions which were included in the original editions.

Powys Media have unveiled plans to publish a series of novels based on The Prisoner.

The first novel will be written by Jonathan Blum (best known for co-writing three Doctor Who novels) and Rupert Booth. A release date has not yet been set.

Powys' range of Space: 1999 titles is also due to increase this year, with no less than four titles due for release. The previously announced Survival will be accompanied by The Balor Saga from William Latham, Year Two — a revised, hardback omnibus of all the season two novelisations, and an as-yet untitled anthology.

The first issue of the Faction Paradox Doctor Who spin-off comic is now due to be released by Image in August. Written by Faction Paradox creator Lawrence Miles, the comic will feature the time-travelling voodoo cult that are also due to feature in their own book series from September. The artwork for the comic is by Jim Calafiore.

Details have been released of the second book of Doctor Who audio scripts to be published by Big Finish. The original scripts for The Eye of the Scorpion, The One Doctor, Dust Breeding and Seasons of Fear will all be included in the volume which is due out later this year.

The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy: The Original Radio Scripts has been re-issued by Pan Books.

The title of the next Space: 1999 novel to be released has been announced. Survival, to be published this spring, is written by Brian Ball who is no stranger to the world of Space: 1999, having written the Space Guardians novelisation in the 1970's.

A second volume of scripts from the Big Finish range of Doctor Who audio dramas is due for publication in July.

The Well-Mannered War, the hard to find Doctor Who novel by Gareth Roberts, started an online serialisation on the 21st of February on the BBC's official Doctor Who site. It was the final book to be published as part of Virgin Publishing's range of Missing Adventures before the Doctor Who licence reverted to the BBC in 1997.

Sabbath Dei, the third in the series of audio dramas featuring Faction Paradox from the BBC range of Doctor Who novels has now been released. The fourth, The Year of the Cat, is expected to be released later this month.

The title of the first Faction Paradox novel from Mad Norwegian Press has been announced as This Town Will Never Let Us Go. The book is written by Faction Paradox creator Lawrence Miles.

Telos have announced details of their final four Doctor Who novellas for 2003 — see Forthcoming Releases page for details.

They have also revealed details for a spin-off range of books from the Doctor Who novellas.

The Time Hunter series will feature a number of characters that are due to appear for the first time in the June novella, Doctor Who: The Cabinet of Light by Daniel O'Mahony. The first book in the series will be called The Winning Side and is to be written by Lance Parkin for release in August. A second volume is due to be released in November.

Big Finish have confirmed their plans to release a second hardback anthology featuring Bernice Summerfield. Life During Wartime, to be edited by Paul Cornell, will be released in September. As with the previous volume, a competition is being held for a previously unpubished author to get a story included. Details can be found at the DownAmongTheDeadMen Yahoo group.

Details have also been released about their third and fourth Doctor Who short story anthologies. Short Trips 3: A Universe of Terrors will be edited by John Binns and is scheduled for release in June. Short Trips 4: The Muses is out in September and will be edited by Jacqueline Rayner.

The first issue of Miranda, the Doctor Who spin-off comic featuring the Doctor's daughter, is now available.

Big Finish have announced that the second of their Doctor Who short story anthologies is due to be released in March, again edited by Jacqueline Rayner.

Paul Cornell, the editor of the recent Bernice Summerfield anthology A Life of Surprises, has revealed that the book has proved popular enough for Big Finish to request a new volume.

Space: 1999 — The Forsaken from Powys Media has been delayed and is now due for release on January 17th.

The release of Doctor Who: Rip Tide from Telos has been pushed back due to a delay in gaining final approval from BBC Worldwide.
