Warehouse 13

(United States | Syfy | 2009 – )

Series Background

Warehouse 13 is a science fiction series which can best be described as a cross between Friday the 13th: The Series and the UK's Torchwood, with a helping of The X-Files thrown in for good measure.

The feature-length opening episode saw Secret Service agents Myka Bering (Joanne Kelly) and Pete Lattimer (Eddie McClintock) being re-assigned to a remote and very secret facility in South Dakota, in which various artifacts are safely stored away from the public. The artifacts in question have all picked up unusual properties from their previous owners and it now up to Myka and Pete to safely retrieve other items that are at large.

Their immediate superior, in charge of the artifacts and an expert on most things, is Artie Nielsen (Saul Rubinek). Another character in the form of tech-wizard Claudia Donovan (Allison Scagliotti) was introduced later in the season, with the warehouse's ranks being further swelled in Season 3 by the arrival of new agent Steve Jinks (Aaron Ashmore).

To date, four seasons have been produced for Syfy, with the latest consisting of an extended run of twenty episodes.

THE UNKNOWN HAS AN ADDRESS...

Hidden away in the Badlands of South Dakota, Warehouse 13 is a top-secret repository for historical artefacts imbued with dangerous supernatural properties. Warehouse agents Pete Lattimer and Myka Bering and the rest of the South Dakota team are ever on the look-out for loose artefacts raising havoc. Their mission: "snag 'em, bag 'em, and tag 'em."

Reports of a genuine psychic healer, along with a possibly related epidemic of mysterious illnesses, lead Pete and Myka on an investigation that stretches from a carnival sideshow back to the bloody history of the Civil War. But when Pete is infected with a deadly fever, Myka and the rest of team must track down a pair of cursed gloves — before a madman unleashes a virulent plague upon America... and the Warehouse team loses one of their own.
