Like the novelisations based on television episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation, the Deep Space Nine ones were of major 'event' episodes such as those that opened and closed seasons.

It's been over twenty-five years since the original STAR TREK television series debuted on network television — and today, the universe first seen in that show is more popular than ever. STAR TREK VI: THE UNDISCOVERED COUNTRY was a huge box-office hit, and STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION is now entering its sixth incredible season as the most popular hour of syndicated entertainment on television.
Now comes DEEP SPACE NINE, a thrilling new addition to the STAR TREK universe. Commanded by an embittered Starfleet officer and populated by a myriad of exotic aliens, the mysterious space station known as Deep Space Nine hovers on the edge of a wormhole, a doorway that leads to the galaxy's furthest reaches — and beyond...
Notes
- A novelisation of the feature-length opening episode of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. It was the only Deep Space Nine novelisation to be released in a UK-specific edition.
- JM Dillard has also written the novelisations for every Star Trek movie between Star Trek V: The Final Frontier and Star Trek: Nemesis, as well as the one based on the first episode of the War of the Worlds television series.

The Dominion: The mysterious rulers of the worlds on the other side of the wormhole. The Dominion: a ruthless planet-conquering race unknown even to those they rule. The Dominion: the most dangerous foe the Federation may ever face.
At the edge of the wormhole, the space station Deep Space Nine and the planet Bajor sit on what will be the front line in any Dominion attack. To try and prevent the conflict, Commander Benjamin Sisko and his crew take a never-tested Federation warship through the wormhole to track down and confront the Dominion. If Commander Sisko fails, not only the Federation, but the Klingons, Romulans, Cardassians and all the worlds of the Alpha Quadrant will face an interstellar war they cannot win.
Notes
- A novelisation of the opening two episodes of Season 3. The final episode of the previous season had introduced the Jem'Hadar and the concept of the Dominion. The Search revealed that the mysterious Founders were actually Odo's own people, as well as featuring the first appearance of The Defiant.
- This was the first of Diane Carey's six novelisations based on Deep Space Nine. She had previously written the Next Generation novelisation Descent as well as a number of novels based on the original series.

The entire Alpha Quadrant has been threatened with deadly infiltration by the shape-shifting Founders of the Dominion. Already the Romulans and Cardassians have been decimated by the clandestine machinations of the Founders.
Now the newly promoted Captain Benjamin Sisko of Deep Space Nine has another problem: a massive fleet of Klingon warships has arrived at DS9 on a secret mission. Unable to learn anything from an elusive Klingon general, Sisko turns to Lt. Commander Worf, formerly of the Starship Enterprise and the only Klingon in Starfleet, to try and uncover the truth.
What Worf learns will have a profound impact on the future of the Alpha Quadrant, and Sisko must risk destroying the Federation-Klingon alliance to prevent a full-scale war!
Notes
- A novelisation of the feature-length opening episode to Season 4 which not only saw the Klingons invading Cardassia and the disintegration of their truce with the Federation, but also the arrival on Deep Space Nine of Lt Commander Worf who had previously appeared in all seven seasons of Star Trek: The Next Generation.

Almost a century ago, Captain James T. Kirk and the crew of the Starship Enterprise first encountered the irresistible (and astonishingly prolific) life-form, known as the tribbles, resulting in one of the most unusual adventures in the annals of Starfleet.
Now Captain Benjamin Sisko and the crew of the Defiant are transported back in time to that historic occasion, where Darvin, a devious Klingon spy, plots revenge against Captain Kirk. Using the seemingly harmless tribbles, Darvin attempts to destroy Kirk — but for the misplaced residents of Deep Space Nine saving the original Enterprise will be nothing but "tribble."
An exciting new novel based on the most mind-boggling STAR TREK: DEEP SPACE NINE adventure of them all!
Notes
- A novelisation of the episode that celebrated the 30th anniversary of the beginning of the original Star Trek television series. The episode was effectively a sequel to The Trouble with Tribbles (novelised by James Blish in Star Trek 4) which had been produced for Season 2 of Star Trek in 1967. With a time travel plot that saw the Deep Space Nine characters travelling backwards in time, the episode utilised the latest technology to seemlessly add some of the characters into scenes from the earlier series. The Tribbles also appeared in the animated episode More Tribbles, More Troubles, novelised by Alan Dean Foster in Star Trek: Log Four.
- The book contains a lengthy introduction by David Gerrold who wrote the original Tribble episode in the 1960s.
