Series Background

A NASA spacecraft passes through a time warp and crash lands a thousand years in the future when apes rule the Earth.

The series was based on the classic 1968 movie of the same name and ran for just fourteen episodes during 1974. A cartoon series named Return to the Planet of the Apes was broadcast in 1975, although with yet another set of characters.
