Chris Carter's first attempt at recreating the magic of The X-Files resulted in this dark series in which the psychic ex-FBI agent Frank Black assisted the Bureau in various serial killer investigations while, at the same time, attracting the attention of the mysterious Millennium Group.

The series ran for three years, with the final appearance of Frank Black being in the Season Seven X-Files episode Millennium.
