Andromeda was a space saga starring Kevin Sorbo (
Hercules: The Legendary Journeys) as
Captain Dylan Hunt, and which was based on notes made by
Star Trek-creator Gene Roddenberry at some point before his death in 1991.
In all honesty,
Andromeda is possibly one of the worst sci-fi series of all time, and inexplicably ran for five seasons — despite the fact that everyone hated it.
Frequent changes of direction — both on screen and behind the camera — almost make
Earth: Final Conflict look like an untroubled show...
Original Novels
A series of six original novels based on Andromeda were published by Tor between 2003 and 2005, although unusually for TV tie-ins they were initially released in hardback before later being re-published in paperback. Somewhat inevitably, the law of diminishing returns eventually kicked in and the final book in the series, Paradise Drift, didn't make it to a paperback edition.
