Andromeda was a space saga starring Kevin Sorbo (Hercules: The Legendary Journeys) as Captain Dylan Hunt, and which was based on notes made by Star Trek-creator Gene Roddenberry at some point before his death in 1991.

In all honesty, Andromeda is possibly one of the worst sci-fi series of all time, and inexplicably ran for five seasons — despite the fact that everyone hated it.
