Morris and Young Corgi were also responsible for similar sets based on Thunderbirds and Stingray, which had been released in 1992.
- The Mysterons is a novelisation of the very first episode in which Captain Scarlet comes under the control of the Mysterons and then discovers that he is indestructible. The basic outline of the episode was later re-used for the two-part story Instrument of Destruction, which began the new animated version of the show on ITV1 during 2005.
