The Living Stones was the fourth of four novelisations based on the 1990s revival of The Tomorrow People to be published, and was released at the same time as The Rameses Connection.

All four books were written by Nigel Robinson, who has also written a number of novelisations and original novels based on Doctor Who, including The Edge of Destruction, The Time Meddler and the almost Doctor-less Birthright.
