- Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons was the first of three original novels based on the television series to be published by Armada, who had previously published novels based on Stingray and Thunderbirds, Carrying on the Supermarionation theme, they would also go on to publish original novels based on Joe 90 and the short-lived Secret Service.
- John Theydon is a pen-name of John William Jennison. He also wrote novels based on a number of other series created by Gerry and Sylvia Anderson series including Stingray, Thunderbirds and The Secret Service.
