General Notes

The Afrit Affair was the first of three Avengers novels to be written by Keith Laumer during the 1960s. He is best known as a writer of original science fiction novels, although the previous year he had also written the first two original novels based on the US sci-fi TV series The Invaders: The Invaders and Enemies from Beyond.
Berkley Medallion had already published the four Avengers novels from Panther Books in the UK but, after that series came to an end, they picked up the baton themselves and published a further five novels over the following two years, beginning with The Afrit Affair. Norman Daniels' Moon Express brought the series to a close in 1969.
