YOUR PAGE...

We support & encourage all creative arts, especially  "original" work (as opposed to copied & reproductions of other peoples work). we do have pages for professional, semi  professional  &  amateurs on this website.  but  we  were aware that there are many other people with artistic skills whose work may never be appreciated by anyone other than their close associates.

on this page we offer to display small examples of work, that will be seen, read & appreciated by a very much larger worldwide "audience"

We also offer communication opportunities between people who relate to, & are "affected" by these  artistic works, & the artists themselves.

        Phil Osopher's Corner.

In this mad rushing world where possessions and image, we are told, are the things to strive for. Should we aspire to these beliefs, as lives become increasingly stress filled.

Struggle is a natural thing that everything in nature, from a single blade of grass, a wild bird or animal has to do to grow and survive. So why would we humans be any different ? ,as we are a small part of nature too. Stress should be a creative  simple part of struggle, and not a "result" left over like a hanging cloud . From some previous useless excessive endeavor that colours the present, and holds us fearful of our future.

Struggle is the means by which we grow and evolve, it is just a tool necessary to our actual true progress. Not to be feared, but understood and put into living perspective.

So what do you really need in your life (as opposed to wanting). Know that you can attain it, providing you are prepared to put into it ALL that attaining it requires. Or forget it and let someone who will, attain it. Will it be easy, no, but simple, yes, and in the end the rewards will be far beyond the reach of most.

The struggle for something is proportionate to it's value.

The harder the struggle, the more you must,

for it's value dictated that you have to succeed.

And when you do, Heaven on Earth awaits you.

Volunteer models wanted

I am a local artist who has exhibited in Lincoln and am planning a future project. It will be an exhibition of nudes in various media and styles. I require local people to be models but rather than posing for long periods of time all I will need is a photograph.  It need not be a professional photo but must be of good quality and in colour. It must be full body length but the pose is up to the individual. (sitting ,standing, lying, kneeling etc.) I am not necessarily looking for young and pretty models, I want people of all ages and looks; men as well as women.

When the exhibition takes place, all contributors will be invited to a special viewing and will receive a pack of cards taken from the artwork.

If you wish to take part please send photo(s) to joedco60@yahoo.co.uk

Liz Clews journey through life has, through personal experience taught her that it is normal for most  of  us  to "get off track" sometimes. Either through unforeseen or unexpected circumstances,  our  own  lack  of  knowledge,  or  even  through  our own  faults  and weaknesses. She has for some time been involved in helping people with fitness, stress management and a number of healing techniques. But at the foundation of it all she has come to accept that,  in  fact,  we can  do  anything in life we really want to, if we know the techniques and set our minds to it. With self confidence and sustained action, whatever the state we may "see" our lives to be in at this point in time. We can make our lives better.

With her friend Stacy, Liz's  offer is to do just that. To help you,  make your life better, in fact any way you really want to. So why no contact them, if only just to find out a little more ???

Your Pictures.

Someone suggested that we have a gallery for some of YOUR PICTURES. I think that's a good idea, but I think that we should limit it to just pictures that mean  a lot to you. If with your pic you could write a few words as to why "that" picture moves you, affects you or has a very personal meaning to you, or you just think it's great. If you can please send your pictures as JPEG's if possible).

I'll start it off with this one of mine.  It's my back garden. All it takes is for me to keep the grass cut,  & every time I look out the window (which I do a lot). To see the sky, trees, bushes, wild pond & many wild birds just fills me with wonder & joy. What ever negatives their are around me simply get washed away with one glance.   (It's also the 1st pic I've taken with my new camera).    J.P.

"An Englishman's Home".    From 'erbert.

I will think about it, promise. But I want to sleep on it first. J.H.

Who's next ?

Me,  I feel strange,

my head's swimming, oooooh.

AN as yet UNTITLED POEM FROM DONNA in SOUTHBOURNE.

Polluted skies concrete gardens noisy neighbours and kids on the street,

Dangerous roads and uneven pavements people living in boxes with nothing to eat.

Bills are too high, wages too low, runaway kids with nowhere to go.

Killers and rapists running around free, terrifying people like you and me.

Prisons are full of small time cons, no room left for the dangerous ones.

Houses are cold 'cause you can't afford the gas bill, leaving people cold and ill.

Big guns don't care as long as they make a profit and at the end of the day have cash in their pockets.

Some people afraid to step out of their door, life's not the same anymore.

Why can't things be like you see on t.v? where boy meets girl and falls in love

and lives forever happy.

I love my kids my daughter and son, but what's left for them when I'm gone?

A world of hardship, suffering and pain, Don't ever want kids again.

Lying awake at night in my bed, can't keep these horrible thoughts from my head,

Wondering how things might be in years to come for my family.

What have I done what burden to give, this is no life to live.

Scrimping and scraping for family, do only what I can for charity,

Wish I could do more for charity, but they make you feel so guilty,

Asking for money you just haven't got, makes my stomach tie up in knots.

Rent paid by the council, 'cause you can't get work, not leaving my kids with any old jerk.

Whatever happened to freedom to say, when black is black, and gay is gay.

It's just a word at the end of the day. Too many people take things to heart, and that’s when the fighting will start.

  “Gifts”

You bring me peace, you bring me joy.

You wake me up, inspire my toil

You’re in my heart, you’re by my side,

You call to question the things I hide.

You’re in my nights, and through my days,

You see my faults and “funny” ways.

You know my dreams, you know my doubts,

My quiet crying, my angry shouts.

But through it all, more than I see,

This caring Angel still smiles at me.

Whatever gifts I may accrue,

The one that matters most to me,

Is You.

                                  J.H.Lincoln.

              Perspective. Herb from the country.

(from a father to a daughter).

When rising every morning, see the sun,

Then look again at evening when day’s done.

Without it’s shining light we wouldn’t be,

Compare it to ourselves, both you and me.

When troubles come to call, what er’e they be,

They’re always so much smaller than we see.

We’re blinded by the agony and pain,

And not aware loss, leads to gain.

It’s not so much what happens, it’s what we see,

We’re really less than acorns to the tree.

When things come to confound us, better stare,

Not into the mirror, but in the air.

A myriad stars, a myriad skies behold,

Then our "problem" now looks far less bold.

And now though at this time we cannot see,

What ever comes for us is meant to be.

Whatever hurt we feel now, feels less cold,

Our part in history will soon be old.

So when beset with sorrow, have good cheer,

It means that better times are very near.

When rising in the morning, see the sun,

Then look again at evening when day’s done.

Without it’s shining light we wouldn’t be.

Compare it to ourselves, both you and me.

With Love, Dad xxx.

A Lincolnshire Musician. Isle of Wight 1964.

In the Summer, and the ocean's rolling slow.

Lying on the sand, not a thing to do.

And a gentle wind carries sounds so sweet,

and my mind's too lazy, far too lazy to be blue.

In the Summer, and the sun shine's on the sea,

Breathing in the air, each breath is contentment.

Look all around, and the horizon is so bright and clear.

Under this pale blue sky, who am I, who am I.

Love and Peace, Love and Peace.

Dear Friends and Colleagues,
I'd like to share with you my poem which I've just learned  is a 2nd place winner in the English Association Poetry Prize 2008.  I hope you enjoy the poem.

          best wishes Paul

Red Candle Holder

Our bedroom candle holder’s
blackened around its tinny socket;
we’ve given up chipping off the wax
clinging in layers like gloss remnants.
To carry it to our bed the shallow dish
extends an incomplete ring as a handle
not big enough for a man’s curled finger
but still too expansive for a child’s.

Many mornings we’ve seen the thing
spent, as a gift that no one can use,
and reeking. But don’t close the drapes.
Now it’s settled on our white window sill
against blind glass, let it be a reflection
because it can never speak for itself.
