Congratulations this year to a new winner, Pete Smith with a superb ride in very tough conditions. Last years event record was safe due to an unfortunate shortening of the course which I hope didn’t spoil your enjoyment of the event too much. Many thanks for your help in ensuring that this all went fairly smoothly.

Thanks also to the members and friends of the Nelson Wheelers who gave their time and effort to marshal and help out in the many other ways that go unrecognised and yet remain crucial to the success of any event. (Hope that you have thawed out now Jack!)

Many thanks to the timekeepers Brian Nightingale and Mike Addis and also our long suffering handicapper Keith Tattersall.

A very special thanks must go to the sponsors without whom we would struggle to make the event as much of an occasion as it is.

It remains for me to wish you all a good season and hope to see you again next year on a full course
