C11 at f10 on G11 Gemini mount, ST10XME camera, with AO8 active optics self guided on star TYC 4517-1393 (mag 9.8), AO8 exposure 0.2secs binned 3x3, updates 4.0Hz
L=16x360 secs, (total=1.60 hrs).
Integrated magnitude of Pal1 is 13.62
Conditions -5deg C, sustained anti-cyclonic weather over UK. Moon altitude +5deg to -9deg during exposures. Limiting Visual Magnitude approx 4.0. Altitude of Pal1 58.6deg to 54.5deg
Average FWHM of subs and total stack is 1.4 arcsecs, no sharpening applied.

Notes: FOV is 12.7' x 9.1' centred on 03h 33m 22s, +79deg 34min 44sec (J2000) with north up.
Discovered in 1954 by George Abell on the Palomar 48" Schmidt survey plates.
Pal1 is unusual in that its age of approx 7x10^9 years is much less than other globulars in our galaxy. It may once have been associated with a dwarf spheroidal galaxy that was later destroyed by tidal forces.
