Computer Games: Rise of Flight Updated
Neoqb have released another update for their WW1 flight sim Rise of Flight: The First Great Air War. The version 1.007 update adds two more flyable aircraft to the game - the British Sopwith Dolphin and the German Pfalz D.AII. It can be downloaded and installed using the games activation, management and launching (AML) system.

Computer Games: Eagle Day to Bombing the Reich Released
Matrix Games and 2by3 Games have announced the release of Gary Grigsby’s Eagle Day to Bombing the Reich – a WW2 strategy game that simulates the air war over Britain, Europe and the Mediterranean. It is a highly enhanced combination of Talonsoft's Battle of Britain and Twelve O’clock High in a single updated game package. Miniatures: Battlefield Evolution: Modern Combat Review
The Armchair General website has published a review of Battlefield Evolution: Modern Combat - a set of rules for modern tactical wargames with miniatures. The reviewer (Richard A. Martin) summed up his thoughts as follows: “Passed Inspection: Fast play, easy to learn, well-written rules. Failed Inspection: Weapons tables can be confusing.” You can read his review here.

Computer Games: Battle of Britain 2 Updated
ASA Simulations have released another update for the WW2 air combat strategy and simulation game, Battle of Britain II: Wings of Victory, updating it to version 2.10. It includes updated flight models, over 400 authentic period ground models and new high res terrain textures. The update can be downloaded from the Gamers Hell website.

Battlefront have released a second update for their WW2 game Theatre of War 2: Africa 1943. The update is approximately 72 MB in size and brings the game up to version 1.3.0. Further details and download locations can be found on the Battlefront.com website.

Computer Games: March to Baghdad Released
The Armchair General has teamed up with developer ProSIM Company to release a free computer wargame exclusive: March to Baghdad, Episode 1: Decision at Tallil Air Base. The game is a complete, stand-alone mini-game for Windows, ready to download, install and play. It was built using ProSIM Company’s Air Assault Task Force (AATF) engine, a professional military-grade simulator that is used by militaries worldwide. March to Baghdad comes with two scenarios that cover the battle for Tallil Air Base during Operation Iraqi Freedom. It can be downloaded from here.

Computer Games: Combat Mission: Shock Force Updated
Battlefront has announced the release of another update for Combat Mission: Shock Force (CMSF). The version 1.20 update is available for owners of any of the retail versions of the game as well as Gamersgate. It is for the base game only and it is not needed if you own at least one CMSF Module (Marines or British Forces). The update can be found on the CMSF Downloads page at Battlefront.com.

Computer Games: War in the Pacific - AE Updated
Matrix Games, 2by3 Games and Henderson Field Designs have announced that the first official update for War in the Pacific - Admiral’s Edition, the sequel to the legendary War in the Pacific, is now available. The version 1.00.84 update adds over 200 changes, fixes and improvements to the original release. It can be downloaded from the game’s webpages at Matrix.

History Today: The Battle of Borodino
Napoleon fought against the Russians at the Battle of Borodino on this day in 1812.
