Computer Games:  War Between the States Review

The Wargamer has published a review of the American Civil War grand strategy game developed by 2 by 3 Games - Gary Grigsby’s War Between the States. The reviewer (Steve Stafford) summed up his thoughts as follows: “My overall impression of the game is that it is sophisticated, and was diligently crafted.  Complexity is what makes a game valuable in the long term: there have to be multiple ways of winning or losing, and a lifelike balance between what you can control and what you cannot. This game achieves everything necessary for strategy gaming greatness.  I intend to play this game for quite some time.”  He gave it 9 out of 10. You can read his review here.

The game was also reviewed in August and July last year. Visit my August and July 2008 pages for details.  The links to these pages are on the right hand side of this page.

Visit the Gary Grigsby’s War Between the States webpages at Matrix Games to find out more about the game.
