Computer Games:  Napoleon’s Campaigns Review

The Wargamer has published a review of AGEOD’s Napoleonic title Napoleon’s Campaigns.  The reviewer (Jim Cobb) summed up his thoughts as follows: “Napoleon’s Campaigns is that jewel of a game that has a well-defined purpose in mind and executes it in a disciplined but accessible fashion.  Some gamers may bemoan the lack of a tactical and strategic level. They miss the point. Bonaparte excelled at the operational level and this game captures the essence and nuances of that level of warfare.” You can read his review here.

Napoleon’s Campaigns was reviewed a couple of times last December.  See my December page for more details.

Visit the game’s official website to find out more or download the demo.

Computer Games:  Panzer Command: Kharkov Review

IGN have published a review of Panzer Command: Kharkov.  The reviewer (Steve Butts) wrote: “The shadow of Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin looms very large over Koios' latest effort ... But based purely on its own merits, Kharkov is actually a very thorough and detailed simulation of Eastern Front warfare. The unit details, the combat modeling, and the missions themselves are more than enough to please more hardcore wargamers.”  Click here to read the review and see 30+ screenshots. Visit the game’s webpages at Matrix Games to find out more.
